I wasn't looking at her. For the first time since she'd danced in my presence, my eyes were closed. But I could see her. I could feel her through the music.
Knew when she spun, when she ran, when she hopped, when she threw her arms up, I knew every move, though I didn't know what they were called.
True, we would perform this for the whole school, on a stage, where everyone would see this- whatever it was- but this, this moment, this run of the dance,
It was only for us.
A twirl, a run, a split-leap that, I swear, gave her wings, and she landed in a ball on the floor.
We both kept our eyes closed, both breathing hard. Until, simultaneously, we opened our eyes to look at each other. That wasn't something we could replicate. We couldn't choreograph whatever it was we were going to perform. Because this was us at our best, using each other as a guide, finding the steps and the notes as we went. We didn't speak, didn't need to.
Then, she started laughing. And, I found myself laughing too. Tired, breathless laughter, but laughter of the purest kind.
After a long while, she spoke.
"Do you remember what steps I did? I don't."
I shook my head
"I wasn't looking"
We didn't say anything after that.
More feeling stuff. I actually can't stop. Comment and share I guess. Have a good day. Or don't.

Tiny dancer (Aaron x Reader)
FanfictionThere she was. Like she had been every other day. In that empty classroom. Across the hall. In her oversized gym uniform and well-worn pointe shoes. Turning, leaping, swaying to music only she could hear. My tiny dancer.
