The clarinet is classified as a single-reed, woodwind instrument. The B-Flat clarinet, also known as the "normal clarinet," is definitely the most frequently used type of clarinet. When a person is talking about a clarinet, they usually mean the B-Flat. They have a long range of keys, all screwed in so always be sure to check your screws every once in a while, seeming that they like to fall out of the instrument. These clarinets, and mostly any of the clarinets in general, are usually wooden or plastic; plastic ones feel smooth and look shiny while wooden clarinets usually weigh more and aren't as shiny.
B-Flat clarinets are used in jazz, orchestras, classical music, regular bands, and so many more. Some clarinets even have a neck strap so that you don't have to worry about a clarinet jumping out of your hands.
