Mood stabilizers are used for bipolar disorder , and antipsychotic medicines are used for schizophrenia or psychosis.Lifestyle changes:  exercise is known to help relieve or prevent anxiety or depression. Avoiding illicit drugs and alcohol  is also recommended, as is a healthy diet  and good nutrition.Complementary therapies:  relaxation strategies, meditation or other therapies may be helpful to restore good mental health.

If severe, or a person is at risk of suicide , then treatment may involve hospital assessment and maybe admission.
