I was at lost for words by his advice and could only stare blankly at his face, trying to figure it out what he meant. Letting those words sinking in, I was slowly starting to grasp the meaning of his remark.
"You're like me?"
He didn't answer but his lips parted into an empathy smile. It didn't take much for me to understand the meaning behind his gesture.
The striking compatibility with each other, the unsophisticated attraction when we first met and the uncanny intimacy I had felt when he was around were all made sense.
We, (Y/n) and I, we're both the ones who got left behind.
The bystander of the war between our respective parents.
The unintended victim of the failed marriage.
and the broken shells of a child.
"We have been forced into growing up to be an adult much faster than we suppose to, haven't we?" (Y/n) chuckled but I could feel the sorrow hidden behind that composed facade of his.
For once, I could see who he was, through the wall he has built for protecting his vulnerable self.
"Yeah, we have," I answered, my voice was softer than it had ever been. "I'm sorry for not noticing it earlier,"
(Y/n) let off a sigh, but that smile never left the understanding face of his. "I can't blame you for it. Talking about family isn't the ordinary topic you would normally heard," Despite the compassionate words he had spoken, his lip morphed into a cheeky grin and his eye sparked of mischief. "Well, except for a certain someone around here anywhere,"
I instinctively punched him in his arm the moment when his sentence was finished, then came the fakest whining I had ever heard in my life. "Why are you like this?" I rolled my eye and got off his laps. He was fine; I knew I didn't push any pressure to that hit, it was just a tease.
"But now you feel better, don't you?" He chuckled and patted my head. The fondness of his touch was enough to brighten up my gloomy heart. I pulled him into a hug, holding onto him for my dear life. My face was rustling in the cran of his neck
*Ring* *Ring*
A loud shriek from (Y/n)'s pocket pierced through the room, interrupting the intimate moment I was having with him. I slowly let myself get off his embraces, hands still rested behind him. "Is it yours?" I whispered. "If it is, you should answer,"
"Well, the vibration in my pocket seems to confirm that," He shrugged and fished out his phone. He then answered the phone with a delightful greeting but I stopped paying attention after that, just resting on his shoulder while my hand was warped around his upper-half.
I didn't know how long the call was nor even cared about it, however, the next thing I felt was (Y/n) lightly pushed me off. I was puzzled by his sudden action but before I could even ask, he eased my curious mind with interesting news.
"Let's go to Mina's room, Chang," Said (Y/n) but somehow what he had said was slightly irritated me more than I could have thought. I had no ill intention toward Mina, of course. Still I felt like there was a sharp needle pierced through my heart when he finished that sentence.
"Why?" I asked, eager to know more.
(Y/n) didn't answer and walked down the hallway, then he turned back and said something I never would have thought about.
"To bid her farewell, she is going on a vacation with her family,"

Hi! Long-time no sees.
I have been away for a while, haven't I?
Apologies to every reader who has been waiting for the next chapter, both this book and one-shot. I'm always writing in the shadow but never actually get to post anything.
Life is getting pretty rough for me, I've been through a lot of things, and the fact that I'm a senior doesn't help one bit.
I thought a lot about this, and I decided it's important to tell you guys: I have a mental illness. I went to see a therapist and had been officially diagnosed. I'm on a prescription and everything has been going somewhat smoothly.
Unfoetunately, I'm not comfortable enough to share with you guys the details of my disorder just yet and trust me, it's a pretty important reason.
Sorry again for the long hiatus. You should be expecting a few updates here and there.
Thank you for reading, my dear reader. I miss you a lot, especially the one who have been reading from the start.
