That's me I walked up the stairs to the stage. The bright lights temporarily blinding me as i was taking in the crowd. I walked toward the microphone more scared then I have ever been before in my entire life.

"Um hi" I could feel sweat starting to form on my hands

"Luna you are being awarded the Ice Gordan Award for you exceptional grades" The announcer stated while I could feel everyone's eyes bore into my soul

"Thank you" I grabbed the award out of his hands and bowed

Why the hell did I bow he's not the fucking queen of England I walked off stage

I pulled out my phone and texted Grady and asked him to meet me at Lucky's. He agreed and I headed out to my car. I leaned up against it, my dream car a white jeep that I got for my 16th birthday a few months ago. I sat down in my car and opened the mirror. Jeez i thought to myself. I ran my fingers through my shoulder length curly hair and took off my glasses. I tried to rub my glasses lines off my face when someone knocked on my window. I jumped only a little.... Okay a lot who just knocks on someone's window. I rolled down the window only far enough so they could see my eyes. It was Grady.I opened my door and stepped out I leaned forward and hugged him only to be welcomed by something warm and wet. Ewww I thought to myself was that sweat. I looked down and saw that it wasn't sweat it was thick warm red blood and it coated my sweater and my arms. I looked up the see Grady starring almost past me but more like he was looking out into the abyss.

"Grady" I took a step back and he stepped forward "Stop moving what the hell happened" I was terrified

"I don't know one second I was standing with Jade and the next thing I know she's dead and i'm covered in blood, but Luna I swear I didn't kill her" He stepped towards me again

I stepped back and fell over Of course I just had to wear heels the night my best friend decides to-

My thoughts were interrupted by red and blue lights swarming around us. I was ripped up off the ground. Grady. He pulled me up and held a knife to my throat

"Grady please I don't wanna die" I was blinking back the tears I've been holding

"Luna I can't lose you I don't wanna be alone" His voice was shaking I knew he was scared

"Grady your not alone you've never been alone i'm always gonna be here for you" I tried to reassure him

"Really because that's not what Jade said when she was trying to get in my pants " his tone harsher than it had been before "She said you were moving away from me , Luna she said you were going to leave me next week" He was yelling now

"Grady I-" I stopped I couldn't lie to him ever especially not now "I'm sorry i swear I was going to tell you before I left it's harder than you think"

"Really it didn't seem so hard for you to tell Jade but it was hard for you to tell your best friend" he was yelling again

"Young man this is  sheriff Manley with the Ice county police we ask you to free this young woman and lay down your weapon before we use force"

"Shut up!" He yelled he was crying at this point "You don't understand I can't she's gonna leave me if I don't do this" his grip on me tightened

"You know I didn't believe her at first I went to your house and saw the boxes and I knew she was right I went back to her house and lost it. This is your fault Luna if you just told me none of this would have happened" he whispered in my ear

"Grady i'm so sorry I really am but I was scared to tell you because I thought I would lose you but Grady if you don't put the knife down i'm gonna lose you forever and I can't please" I was crying but his grip loosened

"Young man we ask you to release her now, you have 5 seconds until we use force" the sheriff said over the microphone

His grip loosened even more and then his arm started to fall. Then I heard this ear piercing sound a shot. And Grady hit the floor. No no no. I turned around and his body was on the floor he was dead.

"No!!" I couldn't help but scream "You killed him he was letting me go and you killed him" I wrapped my arms around him My best friend I thought to myself he's dead he's fucking dead. Someone started to pull me off of him and the room started to go black.

I woke up in a cold sweat. I touched my face to see that I was crying in my sleep again it's been 4 months since he was killed and I have the same nightmare every night. I looked over and saw my best friend Riley laying next to me. I nudged his shoulder to let him know I was awake. He sat up and saw that I was crying again he wiped my tears and woke Ava up from off the floor. We all sat next to each other and hugged then we watched WWZ and just laughed it felt so good to laugh after reliving that night all over again.

"We better go back to sleep we have our first day of Junior year tomorrow" Ava said yawning

Ugh I thought my first year at a new school where everyone knows each other and no one knows me.

Riley nudged my shoulder probably noticing my disappointed face. I looked up at him and smiled

"We are all going to be there together tomorrow Luna we are gonna be fine I promise" he smiled back

"I know I just don't want anyone to know about Grady" I fidgeted with my necklace

"No one knows and they won't know I promise and as long as no one goes digging I swear" Ava said grabbing my hand we hugged again and Ava crawled back to her mattress on the floor and me and Riley went back to my bed. I laid down and closed my eyes for once the dream not immediately coming to mind. I went to sleep happier than I have in what felt like eternity.
