"Mum's friends invited us over for something. I have to go." Allyan groaned, throwing her head back on the couch. Her long black hair was falling over her eyes as she sulked.

"Oh come on! One more game? Please?" Nike begged, tossing the Xbox controller at her feet.

"Mum's going to be here in like, two seconds. See you later idiots." She rubbed Nike's hair as she got up and walked towards the door. I followed her, leading her out.

"Thanks for coming mate, Have fun." I chuckled, bringing her in for a hug. She laughed and flipped her hair back.

"So you aren't interested in me?" She asked, looking at the floor.

"You know I don't swing that way. Someone who is actually straight will fall for you, you're beautiful babe." I reassured her, hugging her again.

"Thanks Triss, good luck with your dad." She told me, blushing a little. I nodded and pulled away as I heard the blaring horn of her Honda.

I waved to her mum as she walked over and slipped in the passenger seat. I watched them drive off before going back to my friends in the loungeroom as they played the Xbox.

"Hey Triss, you kind of support that 'gay' stereotype." Holden teased, grinning at me through his bright red hair.

"What stereotype? The calling people 'babe' one?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

"No--" He began his snarky retort but his phone buzzed with his Simple Plan ring tone. "Man." He muttered as he glanced at the screen. "Excuse me." He sighed and walked down the hall. "Yeah. Whatever. I don't..." He walked off and I frowned deeply.

He was put under so much stress with his parents going through a bad brake up and his school work piling up.

"Tristan, come play modern warfare." Nike whined, tossing me a remote. I lay next to him with a shrug and we began playing.

"What is it with boys and war games? There's so much death and destruction." Britney snorted, lifting her eyes from her phone screen to glance at the tv screen. I chuckled with a grin.

"Stress releiver. Why do you think Holden plays this so much?" I replying. I looked back and Nike had grabbed a giant, six barrell gun and was going nuts, killing everyone on the screen. I stabbed him in the back with my knife and he died instantly.

"You bitch!" Nike yelled, his voice going really high as usual. "That was so dog!" He socked me in the arm over and over again.

I laughed hysterically and Britney joined in quietly with a little smile. A weight fell on my back and I stopped, flattened. Holden was sitting on me.

"I think you have my controller Tristan." He countered and I could hear the smirk on his face. Nike's face lit up and he chuckled, turning back to the screen as Holden restarted the game and they began playing again; Holden still sitting on my shoulder blades.

"Get off me you idiot." I groaned.

"Shut up bitch." He snarled back absentmindedly.

There was a jingle of keys at the door and the devil walked in. My mum walked into the loungeroom...

With all my friends' parents?

"Holden! Get off him now!" Holden's father boomed, grabbing his son's ear and hauling him off me, much to my relief. Holden's father was a scary man that nobody messed with.

Thay all gathered around and Holden's mum sighed, glaring at her husband and son bickering.

"I have a feeling you have something to say." I countered, standing up. My dad smirked, proud of my 'intelligence'.

"We have been keeping a big part of each of your identity from you. It's time to tell you. Allyan is too young to know." Britney's mum began, confirming my query.

"We are animal shifters." My mum revealed, holding my dad's hand. Holden stopped struggling against his father, Britney dropped her phone and Nike's jaw dropped to the ground. My eyes widened at them in surprise. Scratch surprised, I was astounded.

"This is the month of your life of your lives where you switch to your genetic animal." My dad added onto my mum's sentence.

"Holy shit." Nike muttered. Britney and Holden hid smiles as his mum smacked him over the head. I couldn't do anything, I was in shock.

I felt head spin and everything went black, followed by the impact of the ground. There was alot of loud and worried voices around me as my hearing slowly faded out aswell.

•••

"Tristan?" I heard my dad's voice in the distance as I slipped into conciousness. "Tristan, can you hear me?" He was closer this time and I found the strength to let out a groan.

"Triss." Nike's relieved voice made me open my eyes to find all of my friends and my parents kneeling around the couch I lay on.

"Hey buddy, you feeling okay?" Dad asked, holding my hand. I nodded weakly, trying to sit up.

"Nope, don't move Triss." Holden chuckled, holding my chest.

"I had the weirdest dream..." I groaned, laying back down as I was told. "You told us that we could transform into animals." I giggled before looking at Nike's worried face.

"Dude, that wasn't a dream." He argued. I snapped my gaze back up to him, my drowsiness dissappearing.

"So we are animals?" I squeaked to my dad.

"Yes son, it's quite amazing actually." He replied reassuringly, glancing back at my mum.

My dad told me all they had told my friends while I was out.

"So it's compolsary that when you've shifted, you are to be sent to a shifters' camp far away from here." My dad sighed grimly.

"As soon as you've all shifted, it's time to say good bye for the next three years." Mum joined in, wiping tears from her eyes. I sat up and hugged her.

"Who set this rule?" I asked my dad.

"Our alpha, Hale." He replied. "He is a good alpha though, he looks after us just like in the wild." He added and I nodded, Holden, Nike and Britney aswell.

"When do we shift?" Holden asked.

"When you're animal is ready. We thought we'd tell you before it freaked you out." Holden's father told us, sitting on the couch next to me. I let my mum up and she rushed to the bathroom.

"It's quite painful the first time it happens." Dad added quietly. I gulped, looking down at my lap. I didn't deal with pain very well.

"I think you three should head up, get some sleep." Dad told us and we nodded, Britney grabbing some blankets from the cupboard. Us boys would sleep on the bed while she took the lounge, uncomfortable with sleeping with us.

Holden helped me walk up the stairs to my room where we colapsed on my bed all together, falling all over each other.

"Move your tiny ass out of the way Nike." Holden growled, pushing the smaller boy off the bed as Britney set up her bed on my small couch.

"Goodnight guys." She muttered as I helped Nike back onto the bed.

We fell into comfortable silence until I could only hear Holden's soft snores and Britney's nose whistling.

"Tristan?" Nike whispered, hugging me around the waist.

"Yeah buddy?" I asked back, looking down at him in the covers.

"I'm kind of scared." He admitted, blushing in the dim moonlight.

"It's alright Nike, just go to sleep. We'll figure it out in the morning." I chuckled quietly, wrapping my arms around his shoulders tightly.

"Goodnight Tristan." He yawned and we fell asleep together.
