Tonight the military would be invading DEMA.
They would free everyone and search for the ones Cry Baby wanted to be found.
She hoped they'd find Tyler.
Oh how she missed him.
She began writing little notes to him every morning and sometimes at night if she had to.
She had her phone, she'd text him messages.
The messages wouldn't even send.
They'd always say "failed to deliver" because his phone was erased.

Tyler... I really miss you. I just wish things weren't the way they were right now.
I don't even know if you're still alive.
You may be dead for all I know.
Always know that I will never forget about you.
I love you forever.

Send.

Failed to deliver.

Cry Baby shut her phone off and began crying as she laid in bed.
She felt very lonely.
Her heart was pounding loudly in her chest.
She could hardly hear over the loud crying.
Her face was getting hot.
Then the door to her room opened, light shining in.

"Melanie?"
A voice called.
She wiped her tears and sat up.
"Yes?"
She said.
The lights flickered on and standing in the doorway was Brendon.

"Aren't you supposed to be locked up?"

"Nah, not anyone. According to Henry, I'm useful for information. I haven't even seen that guy today. Usually, he's out there sitting at the table."
Brendon says.
He walked over to Cry Baby and sat down at the edge of her bed, like how he always did.

"You're pretty tough, you know that?"
Cry Baby looked up at him.
"I'm tough?"
She asks.
"Yeah... I'm surprised, you've been handling this like a boss."
Brendon gave her his classic smile.
But she didn't smile back.
She just looked down into her lap with her arms crossed.

"I... miss him."
She says.

"I know. He misses you, too, I bet."

"It's just... I don't know if he's alive or not, you know? He probably died from those bombs... those fucking bombs."

"You don't know that."

"Exactly, I don't. I want to find out, though."

"Julia and the military are... going out tonight to invade DEMA... I heard you get to watch them."

"Yeah... I'm not too excited, to be honest."

"Maybe you'll find him."

"Yeah, his dead body."

"Melanie stop!"

She started crying again.
Brendon wrapped Cry Baby into a warm hug.
He rubbed her back, comforting her.

"Everything will be okay. I promise, Mel's."
Brendon was probably the best hugger out there.
And the most understanding person.
