It was the last month at Academi High. Oka Ruto, a shy introvert, was saddened about this moment. It meant that she would have to leave the Occult Club behind and start her own, new life. Unfortunately, Oka hardly had any friends besides her Occult "friends." Oka was the one girl in the school in which everyone called her names and thought of her as some kind of creep. No one ever dared to talk to her (unless if it was a mean comment) or be around her.

Finally, The bell rang after the long hours of the school day, and Oka was the last to leave the Occult room. She grabbed one of her occult books that included hundreds of spells and possessions to bring home and study and then locked the two entrance doors. When she passed a hallway, she noticed five blonde boys walking towards her. Oh God, no not them again . . . She thought while shifting around to find somewhere to hide.

"There she is!" One of them, raspily.

Then, within a few seconds, they began charging after her. Oka tried to outrun the situation, but her feet felt weak and the boys were too swift. One of the boys grabbed her by the wrist and flung her smack down to the ground. "You weak, pathetic girl!" said another as he gave Oka a striking clout to the face.

"Please s--stop!" Oka cried.

Before she could block her face, another one of the boys pummeled Oka in the face once more, this time a lot harder, causing her nose to bleed. They continually beat her, filling her with an unceasing pain that caused Oka to feel excessively paralyzed, most of all desolated.

"Hey!" a stranger from behind the group hollered.

Oka couldn't recognize the unusual individual through her blurry vision, but she could make out the voice, and it was that of a female's. It was very deep to say the least. All the boys froze their actions immediately. They turned suddenly, all a stunned look on their faces

"Umeji! What did I say about attacking other students without my command?" The female voice screeched.

Umeji's anxiousness rushed, "I am so sorry, boss . . . I didn't mean to--"

"Oh, you will be sorry!" she interrupted Umeji, "Get the hell up, now!"

At that moment, the other delinquents had already ran, leaving Umeji to deal with the punishment. Umeji was punched in the face and fell to the ground. He got up and quickly ran out to the others. Oka looked in the direction of the other girl.

"Are you okay? Sorry about them . . . " quoted the girl, "Oh, yeah, my name's Osoro by the way. Osoro Shidesu . . . "

Osoro held out a hand for Oka. Oka slowly and nervously grasped it, and stood up, almost stumbling.

"Y--yeah, I'm f--fine . . . Thank you . . . " She looked directly into Osoro's flamey yet gentle eyes. She recognized her blonde hair, her bronze colored eyes, her X shaped scar on her cheek, and the jacket she had that draped around her shoulders. The delinquent leader? Why is she helping me? Many questions spun in Oka's head.

"Oka Ruto, right?" Osoro asked.

"Y--yes, how did you know?" Oka shyly questioned, a hand clasping onto her arm.

Osoro's face seemed to sadden when she asked this. "Everyone knows . . . who you are . . . " she declared.

Oka promptly realized what she meant and looked down and sighed, "O--Oh . . . "

Oka started to walk away, but, abruptly, Osoro put a hand on her shoulder. "You'll be okay, right? Again, I'm sorry about them. I'll make sure that I teach them a lesson."

"Y--yeah, I'll be okay. T--thank you . . . O--Osoro . . . " Oka gave a sheepish smile and strolled away.

Damn it! I should've gotten her cleaned up . . . Osoro thought, feeling insecure. She really wanted to go after Oka one last time, but she felt that a moment like this would be awkward enough if she were to speak to Oka after she already left. Osoro held herself back.

Only a few more feet away from the front doors, Oka still has that lingering question: Why was she helping me...? From thereon, through the rest of the walk home, Oka kept contemplating about why someone as tough as metal would help someone as weak as a feather.
