Samantha Schuyler. The youngest of the Schuyler sisters. Her and Peggy Schuyler are the forgotten ones. People tend to forget that they exist. Sure, Peggy is used to this kind of treatment, but poor Samantha isn't. She wanted to be noticed by someone. Anyone other than her older sister, Peggy. Heck, even her other two sisters, Angelica and Eliza Schuyler forgot about her. This made Samantha very upset. By the time she and Peggy got to highschool, someone actually noticed her. But it wasn't a good thing. A boy by the name of Thomas Jefferson and his friends James Madison, Charles Lee, (King) George, Samuel Seabury, and Aaron Burr had decided to bully her. They bullied her because she wasn't as pretty as her sisters, because she was even more forgotten than Peggy, and many other things that only the boys knew. Samantha went from upset to depressed. The poor girl became suicidal. She refused to tell anyone, including her best friend, and her sister, Peggy. She never told anyone of the treatment she was receiving from Jefferson and his crew. She earned the titles "The Silent One" and "Who?" She liked "The Silent One" better. It actually proved that someone other than Peggy knew she existed.
Samantha and Peggy are inseparable. If one were absent, then both girls were absent. Yeah, Samantha feels bad about lying to Peggy about her mental state, but she simply doesn't want to worry her older sister. It's a force of habit of hers. She'll hide how she's feeling to keep from ruining the happy mood in the room. Another habit of hers is to put other people before herself. That was something Peggy knew about. And the older didn't like it. Peggy always tried to tell Samantha that she should worry about herself, more than she should others, but Samantha never listened (Me). She put others before herself, despite Peggy's words. In reality, Peggy was worried about her younger sister. Samantha might not have known it, but Peggy knew about her younger sister being bullied. Peggy so badly wanted to do something about it, but she was threatened into keeping her mouth shut. Peggy didn't want anything to happen to her baby sister, so she complied. They had threatened to hurt Samantha worse than they ever had before, or worse, kill her and get away with it. This scared Peggy greatly. Sure, she didn't want to believe it, but she really had no choice. These were the same people who made sure Alexander Hamilton was hospitalized. Sure, they didn't physically touch him, but they emotionally and mentally hurt him so much, to the point where the poor kid attempted to take his own life. Fortunately, he had failed his attempt and survived. If his friends John Laurens, Hercules Mulligan, and Marquis de Lafayette hadn't of gotten there when they did, Alexander would be dead. No one knew of Samantha's depression. But they did know that she had a eating disorder. The girl refused to eat, and if she did, it would be something small and healthy. She refused to eat any sort of unhealthy type of food. She thought it made her fat. Plus, that's what her bullies always told her. After about a year of trying to ignore them, she just let them insult her. She had 'realized' that they were right, and what they say about her is true.
During Peggy and Samantha's Sophomore year, Samantha did something that no one would have expected. What she did, changed everyone's lives.
