Ray x Reader Normal AU

(A/N) Reader and Ray will be grown up adults in this one.

(Y/N's Pov)
I was sitting on my bed playing with my phone waiting for a certain someone to come home.

That certain someone was Ray.

This has been going on for awhile now where he would come home so late and it's been bugging me lately.
He would ignore my texts and calls asking where he was at this time at night.
I stopped playing my game for minute and sighed looking at the clock.

1:23 a.m.

"Where in the world is he?" "I'm pretty sure his work doesn't take this long." "Could be cheating? "
"No! (Y/n) He would never cheat right?"

"Right?"

Just as I snapped out of my thoughts I heard the front door being unlocked.

"Speak of the devil."

I thought as I strolled into the living room.

"I'm home." He stated as he shut the door behind him and sat his stuff down.

He glanced up at me and gave me a small smile.
I crossed my arms defensively looking at him with a frown on my face.

He frowned slightly and said:

"(Y/n) honey, what's wrong?"

I decided it was best to get my thoughts off my chest.

"Ray, where have you been?" "It's one in the morning."
I said tapping my foot on the hard floor.

"O-oh uh I was busy doing...things.." He looked away from me making me more suspicious.

"And what were these "things" you were doing?" I hummed still giving him a scary look.

"It's..nothing (Y/n) don't worry about it." He sighed.

"It's nothing?! Really! You have been gone all the time doing who knows what and apparently I have no right to know what your doing!" I snapped.

"(Y/n) cal-"

"No! Not until you admit your cheating!" I growled gripping the end of my shirt.

"Really! You think I'm that shallow that I'm going to cheat on you? What the hell is your problem?!" He shouted over me.

That's it.

I raised my hand to slap him but felt my wrist caught in his grasp.
He leaned closer to my ear and purred

"You wanna try that again Sweetheart?"

My eyes widened in surprise and embarrassment.

"Let go of me." I gritted my teeth.

"Don't you wanna know where I've been all this time?" He said softly slowly letting go of my wrist.

I paused in my anger when I heard that.
He let go of my wrist with a small sad smile.

"I was working overtime so I could save enough money to buy you this."

My eyes widened as he pulled out a  blue diamond ring from out of his pocket.

"Wha-"

He got down on one knee and held the ring out to me.

"Well I better say this now since you've already seen it." He grinned.

"So (y/n) (l/n), will you marry me?"

I feel like an asshole now.

"Ray.." I said as my voice started cracking.

"Of course I will! I'm sorry Ray!" I cried hugging him tightly.

"I'm sorry for lying about where I was (y/n)." He held me closely.

"No it's my fault I need to trust you more."

"No you had a right to get suspicious."

"But-"

"Hey how about we just agree it's both our faults and move on with our lives okay?" He smiled at me.

"Fine fine." I laughed.

"Now shut up and kiss me (y/n)." He smirked devilishy

"Of course Ray." I smirked back and kissed him.
