Picture Las Vegas Nevada; neon lights, cool desert, fast cars, attractive people, and gruesome murder. Beyond the flashing lights, fast cars, and noisy people, a stink wafted through the city streets. A stink that reeks of rotten flesh.
A dead body.
It was almost midnight and there was a panicked 911 call from a person who found a body with a head so splattered it didn't even look like one anymore. A few minutes later, sirens can be heard, and blue and red streaks of light dashed through the city streets of Las Vegas.
A woman walks out of her car, sirens blaring around her. She struts in her pumps as red as blood, her blazer as dark as the no-star sky above her, a police badge shining at her waist, and a pistol in her holster. Her dark brown hair and auburn eyes glinted against the neon signs of the alley where police found the dead body.
"Detective Sacro, the vic is caucasian male, mid twenties, cause of death: blunt force trauma." an officer said.
Blood splatter was everywhere making it look like a firecraker of blood exploded.
"Some blunt force." Det. Sacro says as she strides and ducks under the yellow police tape. She had seen worse. She had puked, fainted, been shot at, taken by surprise and so much worse than this on her time at the force.
Her experience made her the strong woman who she is today. She, who takes no shit and gives no fucks.
"Where's the forensic team!? Get them here stat!"
A tall man with a face not suited for the force in his mid twenties walks toward Detective Sacro, holding an evidence bag.
"We were in the crime scene long before you came" he said.
Detective Sacro responded with a raised eyebrow like she was about to slap him.
"This is foul play" Jakob continues.
"Thanks for pointing that out! I sure as hell didn't know." Det. Sacro said sarcastically.
She was tired of bullshit. She needed to know what this fucking mess was. She needed leads, not obvious answers. "Finish up and get this body to the morgue, and ill look more into it at the precinct. Jakob, clean up this crime scene!" She barks at him.
She gets onto her police cruiser and drives away to the precinct. The forensics cleared up this mysterious and messy crime scene. No weapon was found, and they got very few evidences. After even searching the body the victim's wallet didn't have an ID. Only cash. No credit cards too. No keys. No phone. It was like he didn't want people to know who he was or the person who killed him didn't. The forensic team was left to clear this gruesome crime scene as Det. Sacro sped away in her car, honking loudly at the traffic even though her siren was on.
The precinct was a mess. It didn't help that their police force was situated in the Sin City. Officers were rounding up criminals, some were neck deep under files and reports and others were busy with phonecalls and what nots. No long after she sat on her desk Captain Gabriel Vasquez drops a fuckton of paperwork on it.
"The fuck is this? I have a murder case!" she snaps back to her captain. "I don't care, get these done Sacro." Captain Vasquez adjusts his glasses and briskly walks back to his office.
He was a tall man, prim and proper like a gentleman, but there was a reason why he was the Captain of this precint. He was one of the greatest police officers to have ever graduated from the police academy and he is one of the most decorated officers in whole Nevada. Det. Sacro watches as Captain Vasquez goes back to his office and rolls her eyes. Ignoring the paperwork her captain gave her she heads down to the morgue to investigate the body further.
She can't get this mystery out of her head. Who was this guy? Why was his head blown up like the fourth of july? What might've gotten himself killed?
Arriving, she walks through the morgue doors without warning, startling the forensics inside. "Oh! Det. Sacro, we found some new things on the body" Jakob Brown says and gives Det. Sacro test results.
"His clothes were wet with sexual fluids, but it seems unexplainable since he far away from the nearest strip club."
"He could've just masturbated or had sex anywhere. He was near a club after all." Beatrice Arlen, another forensic scientist adds.
It was clear Jakob didn't think much about the evidence that was right in front of him. "You don't think this could be the work of Lady Hella now would it?" another voice says behind Det. Sacro. This made her hair stand on end, and if she had no self control, she would've kicked this man in the balls.
"Detective Julien Aviero, how oh so not pleasing to see you here. Do you want to be the next dead body?" Det. Sacro says nonchalantly. Det. Aviero ignores her, shrugs the insult off and examines the evidence from the body.
"This M. O. doesn't match Lady Hella's work. Or the work of her thugs. She isn't the type for gore. And besides she doesn't own the club near where we found the body." Det Sacro added, unimpressed. "We found traces of alcohol, and drugs. The regular cheap Marijuana strain to be exact" Jakob snipped in.
"Hey dumbfuck, this is Vegas. All of us have alcohol and drugs in our system. And we're the good guys." Det Aviero gives him a creepy smirk. One that could make someone think this psychopathic detective will kidnap and kill them.
"Jakob call us down this hellhole when you actually find something worth seeing your dumb face about-- No phone, No ID, no nothing, who the hell are you?" Det. Sacro asks the rotten corpse as if it could reply.
