[13] "Come Play With Me, Baby."

{2:23 pm} SLOWLY ACCULTURATING TO A STOP at the light, Kaiden releases a faint sigh as he peers up into the rear view mirror and smiles at me. "Where do you want to go for lunch, babe?" he asks, cocking an eyebrow.

"Bud, where do you want to go get food?" I ask as I turn to Devin.

"Trench Tries," he mutters, not meeting my eyes.

I turn back to Kaiden's reflection in the mirror and suggest, "O'Charley's? Their fries there are good."

He smiles at me. "O'Charley's it is," he answers.

After a few seconds, the light changes green and Kaiden turns onto the highway and we head to O'Charley's.

{2:38 pm} "Wow, Devin must really be out of it since he only ate a few French fries," Kaiden answers as he closes the to go box.

"Well, he did just have to get stitches in his forehead not even two hours ago," I reply. "He's probably still a little high on the medication."

"True."

Our server comes back by with our receipt and Kaiden's debit card. Kaiden smiles at her as he takes it from her. After he signs it and leaves a generous tip, we leave.

{2:40 pm} At the stoplight, I turn around in the passenger's seat and face Devin. "Bud, you want to go get ice cream now?"

Devin's tired eyes meet mine and he shakes his head. "Broder, home," he murmurs before closing his eyes.

I give him a small smile and then turn back around in my seat. "We can just go home," I reply to Kaiden. "I think Devin just wants to go home and see KJ and probably lay down."

Kaiden nods.

'And let me give you another Valentine's Day present' I thought as I mentally snicker.

{2:52 pm} "How is he?" is the first question Aiden asks us the moment we walk in the door.

"We think he hit his forehead on the corner of his bed and that's what happened," Kaiden answers. "They put stitches in his forehead and Dr. Elroy gave Dez and I the instructions to care for it."

"Damn," Aiden whispers. "Glad it wasn't anything more serious."

"We are too," I reply, smiling at Kaiden's brother. Then, I turn to my fiancé. "I'm going to take Devin upstairs and lay him down."

Kaiden nods and then passes Devin's sleeping body to me. "Mm, I want sleep," Devin murmurs, briefly opening his eyes to peer at me before closing them again.

"Shh, shh, baby," I mutter, rubbing his back. "Mama's bringing you upstairs to lay you down. You can go back to sleep."

Devin releases a big yawn and closes his eyes again. Kaiden pecks me on the lips and then I carry Devin upstairs with me. {2:56 pm} I lay him down in our bed and then go find KJ. I'm about to enter their room when Trent appears in the hallway and he's holding KJ. "Hey, sis," he greets before smiling at me. "Obviously, KJ's with me if that's who you're going into their room to look for."

I give my brother a wide smile as I tickle underneath KJ's chin. "Hi, honey. Are you hanging out with your awesome Uncle Trent?"

"Rent," KJ replies before giving me a big smile.

"Do you want him?" Trent asks, peering at me.

"Well, I want to give Kaiden another present. .  .  Could you keep an eye on KJ? And I'm going to move Devin to sleep in the playpen in the living room, could you also keep an eye on him?"
