Watching out towards the ocean
as I sit in the sands, looking for a sign
How do I put this thing in motion?
As time passes by, I look up to my "divine"
And ask for promotion of a quotient
So I can get to the ranks of those ahead of the line
But trick my mind into in a notion
That's as thin as a line, then collapses to trite
That I know can never get me in motion
But then I stand up and realize, "it was only a matter of time"
Before I hear a chime in my head which will help me change notion
And before you know it, no more nickels but dimes
Then quarters, then dollars, enough to buy new lotion
But until then, I'll be putting thoughts into rhymes
