Can you unbreak my heart please?
A heart that's an aching throb
As tears strain from every waking moment
My eyes filter memories of her
The smiles, her patience, her guiding light
Her kindness, her warmth, encouragement
Selflessness, openness, strength, encompassing arms
She was the one who showed me to be me
That it's okay to be who I am
In a world of darkness and shadows where
distrust haunts every corner.
She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother
But most of all, she was a patriot
She was a soldier and a giver
She was my friend with the golden heart and soul
Her friendship was pure and beautiful
I miss my dear friend whose love crowned her halo
