Sensation

So, a little backstory, I'm from an isolated city surrounded by heavily guarded walls and the only way out is by air, which they idiotically decided to make expensive even for upper-class people and getting in happens to be worth less than a single penny. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I'm homeless and I live on the streets. And I never get accepted into the homeless shelters either because apparently I, "Don't belong here or You shouldn't exist or even You're a danger to society!" Anyways, along with the story.

I wake up with a burning sensation in my arm, I looked just do see my arms with a barrage of scratches. "Probably a cat thought I must've looked a nice scratching post,"

I think to myself. I quickly get of the alleyway before someone gets to question me. I open up my bag and grab my wallet, I check how much is left, "Jackpot! $11.50 should be enough enough for water, a hot pie and a small container. Great! I feel like the luckiest person in the world. I walk joyfully to the nearest supermarket, but just before I get in, I get shoved harshly to the side, "Get outta my way!" someone said harshly. I ignored it, I wasn't about to let some stranger ruin my day! I start to shudder and then I fall to the ground in an agonising pain and I start to radiate a harsh cold blue for a split-second but then everything seems to disappear, the pain, the glow just gone, almost like I just died. I get up and everyone is staring at me, some yelling and some holding back others to stop them from attacking me and then I hear it. "Dead Runner," the voice whispers. It didn't come from anyone, it came from my head.

I run outside and I trip down onto the busy road outfront, I roll out the way and gasp for air. "Hey are you okay?" Someone asks, as they reach out their arm. I grab on pulling myself up. "Yeah, I think so. Hey, my name's Scott, what's yours?" I say, wearily as my ribs writhe in pain. "Hi, I'm Lucy. Nice to meet you, now come on we need to go now!" She says. "Why?" I ask.

"Look if I'm right we're both in deep trouble. I know this is sudden but what happened in the store will only get worse, I know how to help." Lucy signals to run, I run with her but she's too fast. "Lucy! Slow down!" I yell through the crowd, but she doesn't hear me. As I stop to think I get thrown into a cop car, no questions asked. "Must be a mistake." I think. But they were not slowing down, they were accelerating, going way beyond the speed limit with sirens even, I instinctively start thinking about a single word, "One." And then I start to radiate a harsh red and I smash the window and with no concern at all for my health I jump out of the window. "No blood, should be fine." I say. I knock on the first door I could find, as it opens up, I step inside and I fall down into the Tunnels.

I pick myself up off the floor, and turn around. "Boo!" Lucy yells, I fall back, "What the hell was that for?!" She doesn't hear me as she's laughing hysterically. "Okay," I say, "Lucy, watch this." She calms down. I concentrate on one word again, "One." Immediately I start to radiate a harsh yellow and the walls start to crumble. "Come let's go!" Lucy yells. "I'm so sorry!" I say on the verge of tears, "I didn't think this would h-happen." She reassures me saying, "No. It's okay. Your powers are extremely unpredictable. It's fine, I know you weren't trying to hurt me. But we still need to get out follow me. Hold on so we don't lose each other." I grab on with my life in her hands, We run until she trips, I pick her up off the floor. And we run towards the light.

As we take a breath of fresh air, I see a note in front of me on the ground I pick it up and it reads,

"Come to me. I can help, three miles east then 20 north.

                   - Kiara Rivermore"

"Hey Lucy, do you know who Kiara Rivermore is?" I ask her. She sighs and says, "I forgot to tell you my whole name. My name is Lucy. Lucy Rivermore, she's my sister."
