you walked hand in hand with ruel as you made your way to the crowded movie theatre. It was a tradition for the pair of you to, every anniversary go on a date at the movies. You would flip and coin and if it landed tails, you chose the genre of movie, if heads, then ruel got to choose.
Every month you always managed to win, so you already had your hopes up. Ruel just wasn't lucky so, as if he would win.
"okay flip the coin babe," you said to ruel.
You smiled, already thinking about what comedy movie you would watch this time.
"OMG OMG BABE, IT LANDED ON HEADS," ruel shouted.
Your face dropped.
"I've already decided what movie babe," ruel said smirking
"and what would that be," you said sadly
"only the newest horror movie that just came out!," ruel said giggling. He knew how much you hated horror movies. I mean why would anyone put themselves through all that, the blood, the violence, and not to mention those beloved jump scares! It was just all too much.
"it'll be fine babe, I'll look after you, I promise."
By the time you were halfway through the movie, you had, had enough. You spent the majority of the movie watching cautiously through your fingers. Ruel looked over at you and giggled. Slowly grabbing your hands, he pryed them off your face and connecting them with his own. He lifted the armrest, and pulled you into a hug.
"I told you I would look after you didn't i?," he whispered faintly.
You smiled and snuggled into his side. Before you knew it, the lights had once again entered the cinema. Smiling you looked up at ruel and whispered,
"thank you for protecting me."
"always."
