Stella, Juliet and I sat on my bed in a circle, UNO cards scattered around in the middle. Stella giggled as she smacked a draw four card onto the pile.
"The color's blue ladies. Draw four Jules," She said with an evil smirk.
"Oh come on, that's the 3rd time! How many of those do you have?" Juliet whined with an unholy amount of cards in her hands. Stella just shrugged and kept laughing. She drew her four reluctantly and glared at me.
"You've been awfully quiet over there, Case," She smirked. "I smell a cheater."
"It's called strategy." I responded.
"Just go already, I'm ready to win." Stella said, patting her thigh impatiently. I picked out a blue 7 and jokingly leaned forward trying to peer into Juliet's hand of 20 cards. She pushed me away and set them face down on her lap.
"Cheater cheater lemon eater!" She sang in a high pinched voice.
"What are you, five?" I chuckled, actually setting my card down.
"I'm rubber you're glue whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you!" Stella ignored us and put down a skip card, making Juliet sober up quickly. "Uno!"
"You have got to be kidding me." She groaned, exasperatedly falling back and resting the cards on her stomach.
"Damnit." I muttered as I realized I didn't have anything to put down. I drew a card and hoped it'd be a blue or a skip.
Sadly, it was a red nine.
"Just get it over with, you win, Stella."
"Again" Juliet added.
"It's not even fun being this much of a winner anymore. So sad to watch my opponents cry like widdle babies." She pouted.
"Oh, shut up. Anybody could win a stupid card game." I argued.
"Five times in a row? Sure, hun," I slid off the bed and started cleaning up the game. After a while Juliet sat up, and helped me.
When we finished I sat back down across from her. "I'm bored," she sighed.
"You're always bored, it's what happens when you have the attention span of a fruit fly." Stella remarked before getting up and walking to my bathroom. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to use the little winners room," both Juliet and I rolled our eyes.
"Ooh, I know what we can do." I furrowed my eyebrows. "There's a party at Jessica Grotto's house at 9 tonight. Literally every junior is going except for us."
"How the hell do you know that?" We weren't exactly the party going type. Our plan for tonight was to have a horror movie marathon.
"I have connections." I chose to ignore how shady that sounded and instead thought about the last time we went to a party. It was last year; Stella got super drunk, kissed six guys and got mono, Juliet ended up puking twice even though she didn't drink or eat anything and I spent the night with a random drunk girl that kept calling me pretty.
