"Taylor Rose?" An old man stood at the front of the small classroom of Victoria High School, reading roll call for his second time of the day.

"Here." A raven haired girl stuck her hand in the air as she kicked her feet on top of her desk, earning her a glance from the teacher. "Elizabeth Sunverd?" The gray haired man continued down the sheet, each time receiving a 'Here' or 'Present' from a student.

The 27th name always earned a groan from each teenager, "Annmarie Wilson" he glanced up, a pitiful smile on his face as he spoke. A redhead in the back of the class stuck her hand up and nodded, no one had ever heard her speak. Not even if she was threatened. "What a loser." A brunette girl, Olivia Manchester, turned around in her seat, "Why don't you ever speak, dumbass?" The redheaded girl simply shrugged before putting her attention to the front of the class, leaving Olivia Manchester and her companion, Taylor Rose, completely annoyed.

—

The third period bell rang, echoing throughout the classrooms and hallways. Annmarie placed her notebook in her backpack and got up, shoving her pencil in her hoodie's pocket in the process. She left the classroom, avoiding as many people as she could as she headed for study hall. "HEY! REDHEAD!" A voice boomed behind Annmarie, causing her to glance around, she hummed in response as the owner of the voice approached her. It was Austin Morrison, the school's badboy more commonly known as Taylor's former boyfriend.

He was a whole foot taller than Annmarie, making him appear to tower over her as he crossed his arms, "A little birdie told me you tried glancing at my girlfriend in gym class yesterday, never took you as the perverted lesbian type." He laughed at her, the whole hallway seemed to stop and stare at the scene, joining in with laughter. What girlfriend..? Annmarie thought to herself. She swallowed hard as she looked up. She couldn't. She couldn't fight, nor argue back.

Before she knew it, he'd pushed her to the floor, her back colliding with her backpack in the process. She couldn't help but shriek in pain. She had landed on her water bottle which she had placed in the last zipper before first period. The hallway went silent within seconds, everyone looked at her before she practically got up. She wiped the stray tears from her face and tightened her backpack straps before turning around and leaving. Not giving anyone anything more to comment on.

"WHAT THE HELL, AUSTIN!?" Another voice boomed in the hallway, "YOU COULD'VE GOTTEN SUSPENDED, DICKBRAIN!" Annmarie knew the voice belonged to Kaylin Johnson, also known as Kayli. That's his girlfriend!? Yes, Kaylin was in Annmarie's gym class but she'd never lay an eye on the brunette. Who even else is in that period that would start a rumor about me and Kaylin? I have beef with no one in that class– except– Fuck... of course. Olivia. The late bell rang as Annmarie exited the school building. She'd always head out to the field during her study hall period. The bleachers were empty during third and fourth period ensuring she wouldn't run into anyone.

The redhead took a seat at the top of the bleachers, immediately taking out her sketchbook like she'd done every day so far this year, flipping to the 49th page of the small book. A sketch of two girls caused the redhead to smile. It was coming along well, yesterday she had started doing the tiniest of details, not favouring colouring as she had done with her last few drawings. She stuck to her pencil and the off-white paper this time, her light strokes adding shading and details to the image.

She glanced down at the bottom of the bleachers, automatically spotting two other students smoking. Connor Shelton and Olivia Manchester. Fuck– Annmarie quietly groaned as she placed her sketchbook and pencil in her backpack before getting up and fleeting down the steps farthest away from the two. She ducked and took off back to the school building and that's when it happened. She collided headfirst into the raven haired girl from her second period, causing them both to fall forward, Annmarie on top.

The redhead caught herself with her hands, hovering right above Taylor, her face full of terror. "What the fuck, Wilson!? First my ex and now me?" Annmarie quickly got up, trying to avoid the other girl, her face flushed as Taylor followed her moves, "Can I have a fucking answer or are you just gonna go silent and run off again!?" She too stood taller than Annmarie, 5 inches taller than the redhead. The redhead looked down, she'd hardly only ever spoken to herself, not even her family. The people who were supposed to love and care for her didn't even bother leaving a plate on the table for her. She tried to turn around but was stopped by a shove to her shoulder.

"I would like an answer, little miss nobody." Annmarie scowled, she couldn't let herself get angry at the taller girl. "Fucking speak already!" She was shoved again. Anger bubbled in the pit of her stomach. She could never find the courage to lash out even if she wanted to but this time she wanted to scream, she wanted to let the other girl know how she felt. Taylor shoved her again, and again, each time nearly causing Annmarie to fall back. "JUST STOP!" The redhead yelled. The raven haired girl couldn't help but take note of how soft her voice was, even as she screamed.

Annmarie took off. She didn't want to hear the feedback she'd receive from Taylor if she'd stay.
