Unexpected Encounter

Today I Learned

(Y/N)'S POV

The next day, you woke up feeling all groggy and tired. You figured all those assignments and projects are finally catching up to you. To make it worse, you received a text message from your manager telling you that you have work today, making you sigh. After putting your phone away on the bedside table, you quickly got up to fix your bed. You also did your usual morning routines; brushed your teeth, cooked some breakfast for yourself and prepared your stuff for the day.

One of the main reasons you decided to live in a dorm is for convenience. Commuting from your parents' house would be a hassle, and you didn't want to wake up very early in the morning just to commute and suffer from early traffic and the rush hour going home.

On your way to your first class, you took a glimpse of your watch and noticed that you still have a couple of minutes to spare. You instantly changed direction towards the hangout place that you and your friends usually go to whenever they wanted to meet up or just pass the time.

You weren't surprised as you saw Kevin sitting by himself at the usual spot playing around with his phone. He had his earphones on and was facing the opposite direction making him totally unaware of your presence. You decided to pay him back for yesterday by giving him a taste of his own medicine. You violently shook his right shoulder and screamed very close to his right ear making him jump up and throwing his right hand up as if preparing to throw a punch. Seeing his reaction caused you to laugh which is loud enough to gather attention.

"Holy mother of all angels asdfgh****jkl." Kevin shouted after turning around realizing who it was. He then sat back down crossing his arms and glared at you making you laugh even harder. You quickly sat down next to him and explained that it was a payback from yesterday which was enough to bring a smile of defeat to his face and gave you a "fair enough" look.

"Wheres Zoe?" You asked.

"How would I know?" He quickly replied. His answer gave you a vague idea of whats going on.

"Aren't you guys in the same class? Did you guys fight again?" It's not that surprising for you as it happens quite often but despite them bickering and fighting most of the time, you barely seem them not being together especially when they have the same classes.

"You probably did something again didn't you?" You asked while shaking your head with a smile on your face. This time he didn't answer. After a couple of minutes, you decided to head to your morning class seeing as this guy isn't in the mood to do anything.

"Just apologize again when you see her in class, hope you guys make up soon. Anyways, see ya later alligator." As you stood up to leave for your morning class, Kevin just mocked you and waved his hand, still fiddling around with his phone. "Okay dad. After a while crocodile."

The morning lecture was meh and what you meant by that is like usual, it just went on and felt like the longest two hours of your life. You are now currently in your second class of the day and this time at least, your professor gave your class something to do, which is better than just listening to a lecture which feels like something that goes on forever.

When the class ended, you texted Kevin and Zoe to meet you at the library while you get some work done. After waiting for about half an hour, you saw your friends standing right by the entrance signaling you to hurry up which made you stand up and fast-walk towards them.
