It was a dreary, foggy evening as Reese awoke on the side of some deserted road. Mist was piled up among the air and it was hot and dark out. There was no sound except the chirp of birds in the small plains and woods that were on either side of the road. Reese's loyal wolf pup, Scrap, was lightly licking Reese's face and softly whimpering in concern.
He is a beautiful dog. Brown coat, green eyes, sharp features among his handsome face. His hair was fluffy and tangled, but in a good way. Reese stood up, stretching as he pat Scrap on the head, the dog wagging his long tail in delight.
"Come on. We should probably get going now", he said to him in a shallow low voice. They both walked down the road until they noticed an abandoned gas station in distance, chunks of mist covering it. It felt creepy walking down here, almost like they were inside a horror movie.
Reese having no memory of his name or of how he and Scrap got to be on the side of the road was a big concern to him but not a concern that he thought about right now. Fortunately, Scrap didn't have a memory problem for remembering who Reese was.
As Reese & Scrap walked up to the abandoned gas station Reese felt pain in his lower right arm, gripping it he noticed something moving through his bloodstream up towards his shoulder. Scrap let out a yelp of concern. "Its fine. I'm alright", Reese exclaims, as he shakes off the pain and stands back up.
As Reese looks closer he notices a number eight tattooed on his right upper forearm. "What the heck? I wonder what that's about", he thought to himself. They both walked inside the gas station. Shelves were knocked over and there was dust clouding the windows. Judging from how bad it looked it appeared to be abandoned for over a hundred years and nobody bothered to do anything.
Reese looked around until he found some canned chili left over from when it was abandoned. He opened up his Swiss army knife and pry's it open. Once he and scrap eat they feel so much better with nourishment. Reese gathers up whatever leftover supplies he could find for tomorrow. He sets up a little spot in the corner of the gas station and he and Scrap fall into a deep asleep.
