Rei, the clumsy girl's beautiful transformation!(part 1 of 2)

"I'm going to be late!!!"

Hello, my name is Rei Tabushi. I'm just your average schoolgirl attending Beach City Middle School. Today, I'm running late, as usual. I grab my bags, and quickly run out the door. From inside my house, I hear my mother's voice. "Rei!! You forgot your lunch!"

"Thanks, mom!"

I hastily run out the door again, sprinting as fast as I can to school. I suddenly pass a group of young boys who seem to be...gathered around something? this better not be some sort of summoning ritual... I come closer to the boys, to find that they're gathered around a really small, pink lion?! Now that's weird. Where did the lion come from? Why is it pink? I suddenly realize that the boys are actually hurting the lion!! I immediately get their attention. "Hey! you guys do know that when you're older, you can be sent to jail for hurting animals? It's illegal! If I see you hurting any more animals again, you can be sure I'll have this conversation again! Do you understand?" The boys quickly reply, "Yes, Ma'am!" and run away. I rush over to the lion to see if it's okay. There's a bandage on its head. As I take it off, I mutter to the lion, "where did you even come from, anyway?" The bandage was covering a small star on the Lion's forehead. "Weird, a bald spot..." The lion jumps up onto a nearby car, and stares at me. I look awkwardly back at it. The lion comes closer to me, as I back away. Suddenly, I hear a familiar sound coming from the school. Nooooo, that's the bell! I'm so late for school! I run as fast as I can to school, and as I race to my classroom, my teacher, Ms. Davenport, yells at me before I go to my seat. "Rei Tabushi!! Late again!" I say to myself, "well it's not my fault that all the other kids get to school on time..." my stomach growls. "And I'm hungry, too... well, I guess I should make up for skipping breakfast! Time to dig in!" Well, I would have been able to dig in, but Ms. Davenport stops me. She says, while holding up my test, "Miss Tabushi! What are you doing?! This kind of attitude is exactly why you're failing!" Oh no, a 30%?! I am failing! 

(Later, after class...)

My friend Nicole is talking to me. "Wow, Rei, I can't believe you did that! You seriously need to learn some self-control!" "Nicole, you're my best friend! You know I don't have that kind of self control! Besides, I'm a growing girl, I need to eat to grow up big and strong!" Nicole sighs in disappointment. Another student comes up to me and Nicole. He interrupts our conversation by saying, "Hey, Rei! How'd you end up doing on that test?"  I reply, glumly, "Hi, Renaldo..." Nicole says to Renaldo, "Can't you tell Rei's upset?! It's not that she's failed any less than she normally does..." I reply, "Hey!!" "Oh, sorry, I didn't mean that!!" Nicole apologizes. Renaldo says, "Well, don't be sad, Rei, I slacked off a little this time, too, and I only got a 95." He chuckles. "Well, it's just a test." "You're such a jerk." Nicole says angrily.  Nicole tries to change the subject, asking, "Hey, did you hear that Crystal Gem P made an appearance yesterday?" 

"Crystal Gem P?"

"Yeah! I heard that this time, she caught a jewelry thief!"

"Wow, that's amazing!"

"I know!!"

"Who IS Crystal Gem P, anyway?"

Nicole shouted, "well, don't act impressed if you don't know who she is!!"

Renaldo explains, "Well, if you haven't heard, Crystal Gem P is a costumed crime fighter who's been fighting evil in this part of town! And rumor has it, she's part of the special police investigation unit!"

I say, amazed, "Wow, I didn't think there was anyone like that in the world!" "Jewelry is so beautiful, I can understand why someone would want to steal it!" Nicole beams. I say, agreeing, "Yeah, I would love to have a diamond ring!" Nicole smiled, "oh my gosh, and some ruby earrings! Hey, I just remembered! There's a sale at my mom's jewelry store today, do you wanna come with me after school and look around?" I excitedly respond, "Heck yeah I do!" We talk about jewelry and walk away, as Renaldo looks at us, confused on what just happened.

(Meanwhile,On Homeworld)

Yellow diamond looks into her crystal ball she calls the cluster. She asks, "Have we made any progress in finding the legendary silver crystal?" The cluster replies, with its many voices, "No." Yellow Diamond says, "We must remember that the great ruler is still in need of more energy. We must retrieve that crystal at all costs. Until then, however, we must rely on human energy. A figure appears from the warp pad in Yellow's throne room. "My Diamond," the figure salutes, "Allow me, Jasper, the honor of this mission. As we speak, my gem monster, Morganite, is preparing to gather energy for the great ruler. She will not fail." Yellow approved, "Then I will leave it up to you, Jasper. Now go." "Yes, my diamond." Jasper responds.

(At Mama Nicole's Jewelry Store)

Nicole and I walk into the extremely crowded store. "There's so many people!" I say. Nicole's mom speaks over a megaphone, "Thank you all for coming today! Welcome to our store! Please feel free to look at whatever you like!" Nicole acknowledges, "Wow, my mom sure is getting into this whole 'sale' thing." I question, "maybe it's because she wants to be more business-oriented?"

(THIS NEXT PARAGRAPH IS SOMETHING REI DIDN'T SEE)

Nicole's mom walks to the other side of the store. She smiles, cackling. The jewelry begins to create energy only seen my Nicole's mom. She declares, "Foolish humans. Take the jewelry, and give all you energy to the great ruler!" 

(BACK TO REI'S POV)

Nicole gets her mom's attention. She nervously turns around, and says, "Hello, Nicole, I'm so glad you came!" "Hi, mom! I brought a friend from school with me!" I introduce myself. "Hi, Nicole's mom!" "Thank you for visiting our store! It's a bit crowded, but pease take your time and look around! And since you're Nicole's friend, I'll even give you an extra discount!" "You mean it?!" I ask, and Nicole's mom nods her head. "Alright, score!" I say excitedly. "Since you like diamonds, how about this one!" Nicole's mom shows us a diamond ring. "It costs 5,000 dollars, but I'll give it to you for 300!" We asked excitedly, "5,000 FOR 300?!?!" Unfortunately for us, everyone else in the store heard us, and we were trapped in a huge crowd of people. We eventually got out of it, though. "well,there's always next time.." Nicole said, sadly.  I left the store, still upset about the test. "If only I had studied a little more...ugh! I hate you,you stupid test!" I crumpled the test into a ball and threw it behind me. I hear a male voice behind me. "Watch where you're throwing things, cotton candy head." I turn around and apologize. The man looks at my test. "A 30%?" I scream in embarassment. "Looks like you better study harder, cotton candy head." "Well, that's none of your business!" I say as I take the paper from his hand. I walk away, and notice a poster for a Crystal Gem P video game. It must be so cool to be Crystal Gem P... she doesn't have any tests to worry about, and I bet taking down all those bad guys is super cool. I look at my test again. "I can't believe I have to take this stupid test home!" I say, as I start crying. I then walk home, sadly. 

(NOT IN REI'S POV)

The lion stares at Rei, and speaks. 

"Rei Tabushi...at last, I've found you!"
