This one should be a little longer(: Comment, please?
The next morning, I got a text from my friend Lisza.
"Coming over, serious news."
"alright,"
Lisza's my bestfriend. We do everything together, and tell eachother everything. I've known her since sixth grade. She was the new kid, and noone would talk to her. We got seated by eachother in lunch, and I looked over and saw her lunch box.
"Hello Kitty! My favorite!"
"Thanks, me too!"
We instantly clicked.
Now, she's that one bestfirend that everyone has. You know, the one who walks into your house(without knocking, might I add!), eats all of yourfood, and treats your family like her own.
"Emily! Get your friend before I have to go buy more chips for the third time this week!"
She's here!
"Li, meet me in the back?" I said, knowing we'd have more privacy outside.
I walk out back, and there she is eating my chips, sitting in my chair. She's staring into space, with a troubling look in her eyes. I ran over to her, as the tears started to cascade from her eyes.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I said, pulling her into my arms, letting my shirt soak up her tears.
"Can we go for a ride?" She asked, between sobs.
"Of course."
A couple minutes into the ride, I had finally gotten the story.
"I thought you were on the pill."
"I guess they're not 100% effective."
"Are you sure, maybe you're just late because of stress. Are you and your mom fighting again?" I had to be sure.
"I don't know."
I pulled into the Walgreen's parkinglot, and pulled into a parking space.
"What are we doing?" Lisza asked.
"We need to be sure. We're gonna buy a few tests and a few bottles of water. I might as well pick up some chips while we're here." I said, shooting her a reasurring look.
"Em, you're not even supposed to be driving without a parent in the car. What's your mom gonna think when she see the credit bill this month and see's 'pregnancy tests'?"
"I've got cash. Now come on, this is better than having to explain the visit to the doctor's to your mom before you even know for sure."
We walk in and get 6 tests. Three brands, two of each. Then we get a couple bags of chips, some water and juice, and I stop by the RedBox too.
"We could watch The Vow while we're waiting for the results." I said.
"Sure." she's nervous, and I don't like seeing her this way.
I have her go to the car while I check out, so she doesn't have to deal with the look on the cashier's face as he's ringing up the items \. Judgmental, much?
"Mom, we're back!"
"Did I see the car gone?"
"Explain it to you later, okay. Just trying to be a friend." I whisper, as I see the look in my mom's eyes when she see's Li.
"Now it says to wait a few minutes while it's concluding."
I hear the doorbell ring, and my mom talking in her "company voice".
"Emily! Someone's at the door!"
I run down stairs, Lisza following. I see his face light up as I come walking down the last few steps.
"Bentleigh, hi." I said, Lisza laughs at me blushing.
"Are you busy, I can come back if you are..."
"Would it be too much trouble? I'm sorry, we have this....important thing for school and it's due this week." Good lie, Em!
"Oh, yeah! No problem!" he said, sneaking a quick kiss on the cheek before he slips out the door.
"Wanna explain?" Li said, smiling at me.
"He's the new neighbor, I showed him around last night. No big deal." Why can't I stop blushing?!
"Ha, no big deal! Your face said something way different!"
BEEP! BEEP!
We both freeze.
"Looks like it's time."
"Yeah." She says. Her face stone hard.
We both walk up the stairs like zombies. Those little sticks hold her whole future.Thinking about it makes me sick to my stomache.
"Can you look? I don't think I can."
"Is that what you want?"
She nods. I walked into the bathroon, and can't believe it. My bestfriend, is going to be a mom. A mom.
"All positive, Li." I say, sitting down next to her on the bed and grabbing her hand. We both broke. Crying like crazy.
"I was careful, I did what I could. I can't believe I could let this-"
"Shhh, It's not your fault. All teenagers have sex. You took all the precautions, you couldn't've known this would've happen."
"Girls, is everything okay?"
I look at Lisza, asking for permission. She just shrugged, then slowly nodded. Letting more tears fall, I call her in.
"Mom, come here."
As she walks in, Lisza breaks down, worse.
"Jan, I have to tell you something."
"Anything, sweetie." My mom takes her as her own, always has. Lisza's mom is a drunk, and recently an addict. She's been here almost every night, trying to stay away during the worst times. My mom knows everything that happens in her life. Holding this from her, would just be wrong.
"I'm...I-"
"Mom, Li's preganant."
My mom didn't say a word, she just walked over to me and Lisza and hugged us both. taking it all in.
"Em, I think me and Lisza are going to go talk. You go see what that boy wanted. He's been out back looking over here ever since he left, earlier."
I nodded. I walked into my bathroom wiping the running makeup out of my eyes and walked out back.
"Hey neighbor," Bentleigh said, a smile playing on his face. Until he saw mine, that is."what's wrong?"
"Oh, you know. Drama." I said, smiling at him.
"No fun, huh?"
He has no idea.
Okay, so this one should be a little bit longer than the other one's. Now that the story is really starting, they'll get longer. And better!
Pretty please with a cherry on top comment and tell me what you think!(:
Love you all!
XOXO,
Abbie(:
