Chapter 1- Escape

She was running though the woods like her life depended on it, getting chased by the alpha of her pack for the sin she had just committed. She didn't want them to catch her, infact she dreaded it. All the trouble she put herself through had gone down the drain as quick as blood would wash away in the rain. Raven hated this she hated the way she was treated because of what her family had done to her pack centuries ago, they didn't forgive them. Not after they killed the alphas mate right in front of him.

What Raven didn't realise was that she would soon meet her mate on her travels to find freedom and love

It was a normal day in the pack for me, the sun was shining in between the trees and splitting them in half but it looked calm and peaceful as per usual. I thought it would be a good idea to wander off into the woods for a while, maybe visiting the small water fall on the other side of my pack's territory, but I wasn't allowed to venture that far due to strict rules from the alpha that only the lowly ranked and untrusted wolves needed to follow. Unfortunately I was one of those wolves but it wasn't entirely my fault. My family had done numerous traitorous things in the past which put me in this situation, my mother and father aren't the nicest parents either, they are very strict and keep me from socialising with the world, I also get into bother frequently so that didn't help either.

Not many people in the pack liked me and kept their distance but its not like I cared really, I didn't go out often either so I didn't mind. One of my biggest dreams is to get out of here and feel free and be free from everything, there was also a chance I could meet my mate and I've dreamt my whole life to find them and let them hold me securely in their arms.

Comfort, is what I yearned for, I never got it from my parents or any of the pack members and I didn't know how it felt to be truly loved by someone.Soon enough night fell on us, the moon taking over the sky and bringing the scattered stars that were wandering around hopelessly.

The morning came and the very confidant sun beams woke me up from my deep slumber, I groaned rolling over, nearly falling off the bed. I stumbled to my feet feeling a bit dizzy and lightheaded due to lack of sleep. A knock was heard from my door and an angry mother came rushing in, griped my wrist and dragged me with her downstairs. The first thing my eyes came in contact with was my alpha Thomas and his beta Barren. I wondered why they were here this early in the morning, it was only 6:30am.

Alpha Thomas walked into the living room and sat on the couch, giving me and my parents a look to come over, and as we did so he stood up and slapped me in the face full force.

"Do u know how much trouble you have caused us, Raven?", he asked using his alpha tone. Seeing that I didn't reply he spoke once again but sternly. "Raven, answer me", but I just kept my head hung low, I was well aware of how much trouble I've caused but I wanted freedom and I would do anything to do get that.

"Raven!!" He yelled, growling lowly as he neared me. I growled back in response, baring my teeth slightly at him."I'm not backing down no matter how hard u try, I didn't plan to be in the family I'm in right now , I want to be free Alpha!". Tears formed in my eyes as I finished my sentence while shaking out of anger and betrayal. I didn't want to stay here any longer.

Run, my wolf whispered at me, so I did as said and bolted out the door and into the opening of the forest, shifting quickly out of my worm out clothes, leaving them in shreds on the soft damp soil.

Stretching my limbs I felt refreshed and full of adrenaline, I swerved through every tree with grace. run faster, my wolf demanded but I didn't listen and kept at my own pace. I heard someone running behind me and I assumed it was my alpha chasing after me but it was just a deer hopping away to find its little baby fawns. It was a heart warming sight to see nature zooming past me in a blur and the hair on my coat that were flying in all sorts of directions. I missed this feeling.

I could run for hours on end, but I stopped running after 4 hours to rest and get something to eat, I had no idea where I was going but I would eventually find a village around here. After my little rest I started running north and jumped over a small stream but I came to a halt once a strange but alluring smell drifted up my nose and I took a deep breath.My wolf seemed to enjoy the smell and urged me to try find the source of it.

It didn't take me long until I saw a dark gray wolf in the distance and the smell became so much stronger, making it harder to contain myself it looked like he was trying to find something as well. My heart skipped a beat when we made eye contact.

MATE , HES OUR MATE my wolf screamed in my ear her voice full of excitement.

Finleys pov

I was wondering the forest in search for some rabbits to cook and feed the little ones in my pack since they didn't know how to yet. I was stopped in my tracks when a strong smell hit my nostrils and was calling me closer to it. My wolf also urged me to find who or what it belonged too.

It took me 10 mins venture further to find that the smell had got a lot stronger. I looked up and saw this light grey wolf sniffing the air around it, my wolf was finding their actions amusing and cute.

Shes our mate, he growled in my ear possessively.
