"ashton?" i mumbled when i woke in the morning. my disheveled blonde hair sat in front of my face, but a hand that wasn't my own brushed it out of my eyes. my blue met his hazel and the clash of beauty registering in my brain was almost to much to handle. ashton was immaculate. it was almost like hes inhuman. well, now he is, in a way, seeing as he doesn't have a natural heart.
"hello sunshine, how's the ticker?" he spoke softly, tracing random shapes along my scared chest. goosebumps rose from under his touch, but it was a nice chill that battled against my fiery blush. i smiled and put up a thumb, to signal a thumbs up.
something felt different today. i couldn't exactly tell you what was different, because i didn't even know myself. it wasn't just the fact that my body had a normal pulse, or the fact that my brain was receiving accurate blood flow. but the way my body felt, warm. it was preternaturally heated. not preternaturally heated for a normal human, but you should get the gist by now. maybe ashton had something to do with it.
"ashton, what happens when we get out of here?" i squeaked out, the words barely making it past my lips. i snuggled a bit closer into the pillow, hiding my left eye from his view. i dont want him to get upset, or anything but his normal, i guess.
"we continue on, luke. we walk right back into the world and leave where we left off. and i'd sure love for you to join me on endeavours of all sorts, but you life still has a lot to do, while mine is pretty boring." he spoke, running his fingers along my fresh stitches. i would tell him that hes causing me slight pain, but if its from him i could give less of a shit about my pain.
"of course, ash. i'll jump in, feet first, and land in the middle of bum-fuck, nowhere, as long as im with you."
