~14 years old, flashback~
Tears filled my eyes as I saw my parents leave me alone at last....but....they....they're attacking my big brother, Aiden... "MOM!! DAD!!! NO! LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!!" I screamed...They just looked at me and laughed, still hurting him....I was tied to a chair, forced to watch as they hurt my big brother....he was much older than me, he was 19 and always tried to help me defend myself....tears fell down my cheeks as I screamed and sobbed for them to stop... After nearly an hour they did...leaving him lying motionless in front of me...and me unable to do anything....I sobbed heavily, the sobs wracking my whole body.

They looked down at him and laughed before walking over to me...I closed my eyes and bowed my head, ready for what was to come. To my surprise, they untied my battered body from the chair and I fell beside my brother. They looked at me and I cried, before they just walked out. I weakly raised my head, sobbing loudly as I looked at my brother's unconscious form in front of me. I weakly crawled over to him. He was lying on his side. I got to my knees beside him, and rolled him carefully onto his back, his shoulders on my knees, his head in my hands. He was breathing, but barely. I sobbed heavily. He coughed, his usually happy and lively features now sad and bruised. I gingerly stroked his cheek. He opened his dark eyes. We were both the same, but different from everyone else. We both had raven black hair. What intrigued most people about the two of us is our eyes.
Both of our left irises were white, but they weren't blind. Our right eyes were a dark brown. We both loved each other dearly. Aiden did all he could to stop our parents from hurting me sometimes it didn't work, but I learned to enjoy the pain. They never attacked him in front of me before... "S...Sky...Skylar...are you...okay?" He asked. I nodded, some of my tears falling onto his cheek as he looked up at me. My long hair was in a messy fishtail on my left side. "Are you?" I asked through tears. He coughed a small bit of blood up which I wiped away with my deep blue sweatshirt. It was my favourite sweatshirt Aiden gave me a few years ago. It was a bit too big for me, but it was like my comfort pillow, like kids have comfort teddies.

I always wore black high-waisted skinny jeans with it. Me being a human of very dark humour and nature, you would think I enjoyed seeing my brother get hurt. But no. I laugh at OTHER people who don't mean shit to me, but anyone who hurts my brother....suffers my wrath. My "parents" now know I enjoy my own pain, so they decided to experiment. On. My. Brother. Now they know the only way to get to me is by going through my brother. Metaphorically, and literally. I stroked his face tenderly as I cried. He had cuts and bruises all over him. He finally had enough strength to move on his own. Our parents had left for town after they left us.

I helped Aiden to stand but, as he was nearly a head taller than me it was hard, but I got him to keep leaning on me as I helped him sit on the couch. He thanked me and grunted slightly in pain. "Why do you do this for me? You don't deserve all of this..." I sobbed gently. "Neither...do you, Midnight....I couldn't let them...hurt you in front of me aga-" I cut him off. " I don't care! Why do you sacrifice yourself for me? I don't want to lose you...you're the only one who loves me and cares for me..." I said softly. I quickly ran to get a first aid kit I always kept in my "room" and ran down to him again. He was grunting softly, clearly in pain and trying to hide it from me.

Another thing about me is I have really good senses. I can tell when someone is lying, or following me, from literal miles away. I knelt on the couch beside him and carefully turned his head towards me. I cleaned some of his cuts and soothed his bruises. I had become good at being a medic due to at least one of us being hurt every day. When I was done, all that was left were a few small cuts which I quickly put some medical strips over, closing them so they healed faster.

At last, all of his wounds were tended. I took his hand and looked him in eyes, still sat beside him on the couch. First, I tidied up the med kit and ran it back up. "Aiden, I ... I wanna run away. I hate this life so much. I want you to come with me. I know somewhere we ca-" I was cut off by my parents a few metres away from the house. My eyes widened as I looked at my brother. "I think it's high time we give them a taste of their own medicine. We have maybe fifteen minutes." Aiden said, I snapped my eyes to him. "Spill!" I demanded. "We need two chairs and a whole lot of rope." Aiden instructed me. I immediately sprinted off to get them. I was pretty fast, too. I brought them back to where I was tied up and Aiden injured, setting up the chairs. He got up and limped over to me. He helped me set up the rope. He grabbed two of the sharpest knives in the house, which wasn't hard, considering our parents used them on us so much. "We're going to pretend we haven't moved since they left. I've hidden the rope, so they will sit on the comfortable chairs and laugh as you "cry" over me. I know how vain that sounds, but in order for it to work, you have to do it." He said. I nodded eagerly, desperate to teach them a lesson. I immediately sat in the same way and place I was in before they left. I waited for Aiden to lie down. He hid a knife beneath himself on my leg and the other directly behind me. He was good with gadgets, and had made it so the second our parents sat on the chairs, the ropes would spring up and tie them down, so they can't move.

Aiden lay his head and shoulders in my arms and I started to sob again. He looked up at me and winked, and at that moment they burst in the door. They looked at us in surprise before laughing and sitting down in the chairs, and the ropes immediately tightened around their torsos, wrists and ankles. Aiden leapt up, holding out his hand to help me up, our knives in our hands. Mom and Dad looked up at us, terror in their eyes. Aiden and I began laughing. They struggled against their bonds, each movement making them tighter.

We both laughed harder, although Aiden still limped slightly. Their breathing grew shallow as we got closer. We were both shoulder to shoulder, still holding hands. "Want the first cut?" Aiden asked, a small bit of insanity showing in his voice. And as much as I hate to admit it, he did scare me a little, but I gladly accepted. I let go of his hand, and glanced at him. He smiled and nodded. I took a deep breath but ended up grinning despite myself. I raised the sharp and shiny point to Dad's face, contemplating what to do. I had an idea and turned Mom's chair to look at her husband. Her eyes widened when she realized what I was going to do. I giggled manically...I don't know where the sudden insanity was coming from... But it came in short, strong bursts.

"Hmm...what will I do to you now?" I asked Dad rhetorically. "Please, Skylar! We didn't mean it!! We're both sorry, please let us go and forget about this!!!" He begged. I laughed, it coming out in insane barks. "Really? You think you can just reason your way out of this, after what you did? To me? To both of us?!" I laughed. Aiden folded his arms and stood tall by my side. "What are you gonna do to us?!" Came our mother's terrified voice. The fear in her voice made me smile. "Whatever the fuck we like." I said, bending slightly to get to her level. Her breathing came in short, shaky gasps. "Hmm, good question though...what am I going to do to you?" I asked myself. I smiled.

I took my knife and rested the point gently on the corner of our Dad's eye. I gently traced it downwards, leaving a thin cut all the way from the corner of his eye to his jaw. He gasped in surprise. I laughed as the blood slowly pooled around the cut. It covered the tip of my knife. I made another thin cut near the tear ducts of both eyes. I leant back and traced the knife along my father's arm, before strongly stabbing him in where his shoulder met his bicep. He screamed before stifling it. I laughed, and so did Aiden. After a long while of torturing Dad, I eventually got bored and stabbed him in the heart, laughing as the life left his eyes, and Mom begging me to stop and let her go.

After a while of me laughing and making small cuts on her for every time she hurt me or Aiden, her whole body was covered in thin slices. Eventually, she died of blood loss, finally leaving us alone. Aiden helped me cut her for some small times I forgot. I let Aiden kill her, seeing as she usually conducted the torture on him. I sat back and laughed when her life left her eyes. Before she she died, I spoke.
"Aw, don't cry...It won't save you." I whispered in her ear and she died.

Hey guys, just a little A/N here. This is my second story, even though my first story hasn't been updated in a while, it just kinda sat there, forgotten. Anyway, this chapter is only really long because I wanted to give y'all a taster of what was to come. Not all of them will be this long, promise!!!
Love,
Skylar!!
