if y/n was able to go back in time and change that day that changed her and the baudelaires lives, she would in a heartbeat.
but that's not how the story goes.
i guess you are dying to see what this day was, and what became after. well, i'll tell you.
y/n and the baudelaire siblings had always been close since they were infants, a word here which means "a very young child or baby." they could never be apart for so long before one of the children would cry for the other. that really never changed, aside from the crying part. y/n had always been there for the baudelaires, and the baudelaires were always there for y/n. especially klaus baudelaire, the middle child and only boy. he was the book worm of his family, and so was y/n. he had probably read half of the books in his library with y/n.
maybe it was because they were the same age, or their shared love of reading and finding out about the world. whatever it was, something just clicked between them.
none the less, they spent a lot of their adolescent years together, reading for the most part. y/n would fall asleep on klaus's shoulder but he wouldn't mind. it was just the two of them, and he was more then happy when it was like that.
y/n did get along very well with violet and sunny baudelaire as well. violet was the eldest sibling, and was the inventor of the family. she would often create inventions for y/n to make her smile. she once created a machine where violet and y/n could send messages to eachother. one time y/n was in a giddy mood, and told the older girl about her crush on violets younger brother. it was cute because violet knew klaus felt the same way, because he had told her the same thing. he was always talking about her to violet, and it sometimes would drive her crazy. y/n would always give insightful information to assist violet when her invention wasn't exactly there yet. she also helped make clothes and take care of little sunny when she was born. sunny was the youngest, and could really speak her mind. but the downfall with that is nobody except y/n and the other baudelaire children can understand her. she also has an extraordinary set of teeth. y/n was like a sister to them.
but to klaus, she was so much more.
she was the missing link that fit the baudelaires into place, like a missing screw in one of violets inventions. the baudelaires didn't realize, but they had an important impact on y/n's life as well. she had never been the best at being charismatic or social. sure, she had a million things to say every minute, but she couldn't find the right way to say it to others. but, speaking to the baudelaires was easy. they understood everything she was going through, every thought of hers, every quote she made. sleepovers were always a blast.
they had inside jokes, years of memories, and they had eachother. for y/n, that's all she needed.
but, she didn't realize the brimming despair she was about to get into.
none of them did.
