Charles, a wealthy and prosperous man, was lounging in his office, drinking whiskey from his flask, and looking at his computer screen. He scanned his folders, looking for the one marked 'records'.

"Hmm, seems like Ms. Davis didn't enjoy the model she paid for, seeing as she returned it. Could it have been what they were trying to make it do? Well I guess it doesn't matter anymore.." He spoke to himself.

Before he got too disappointed, he decided to go through some old pictures he had installed on his computer the first day he got there.

Scrolling through them, he smiled. His smile faded, though, as he reached the fourth image. Looking at it made his head start to pound and his heart start to race. His throat felt as though it started to close and he could barely breathe. Just then, the voice of his secretary Julie, came over the intercom.

"Sir, they're ready." She said in a bored, monotone voice.

There was a silence that fell over the room. When he realized what had happened, he forced a smile and a calm voice so she wouldn't worry.

"Ah, good! Tell them I'll be right down; I have to take care of a few things before I go."

He took a few seconds to calm down, poured himself a glass of bourbon, and started to walk out of the office.

"Thank you Julie... I really mean it, and I still owe you a drink for your birthday! Don't think I forgot about it. Here are your other gifts by the way.”

As he says his last words, he puts down his glass and takes out two things and puts them in front of her. One of the gifts was two tickets to see ‘Tyrannical Tech,’ live, and a custom fit wetsuit. He wanted to know what she would do with it, but he didn't ask her any questions.

Charles picked up his glass shortly after he put down her two gifts on her desk. Julie’s face lit up like a light bulb as she screamed with joy and excitement, "THANK YOU SO MUCH NIHH! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THIS MEANS TO ME!" After she said this, Charles simply chuckled before speaking

"Calm yourself Julie, and you can call me by my first name, Charles. I hope you have a good day today" He then started to walk away when he heard Julie start calling her friends to see who's all free, he just simply smiled, shook his head, and got into the elevator silently standing in the middle. Drinking from his glass with each passing floor, he almost made it a little drinking game of sorts. Every odd floor was one sip, every even floor was two sips, it was a rather large glass. After the long ride that felt like an eternity, he was taken underground and had finally made it into sub level 13. Once the elevator opened, he was greeted by the head scientist, Dr. Jackson Davis.

"Welcome sir!" Dr. Davis said with a forced smile as he looked uncomfortable standing with his feet pointed inward and his shoulder pushed forward to appear more stern and professional. His dark turtleneck seemed a little too tight, he probably hated wearing it, his white lab coat had no imperfections, no wrinkles, no stains. Even with his clipboard shoved in between his arm and the side of his ribs, there was not a single wrinkle in sight.

"So what am I doing down here Davis?" Charles said as they're walking down a long empty hallway filled with the smell of brimstone, blood, oil, and the intoxicating smell of coffee, with coffee overpowering the rest. When we started getting close enough, he pointed to a door that was pretty far away from us that had a very strong neon green glow.

"that sir, that's why you're down here. He is the single most important specimen we've ever created in this lab. He's smarter than everything that was created before him and on top of that, he's able to blend in so well, that you wouldn't be able to tell what's human and what's not." Dr. Davis says. This catches Charles' attention and he starts to raise an eyebrow and tap his glass with his nail in curiosity. Seeing that Dr. Davis got his attention, he clears his throat and continues. "come, come follow me, I'll show you what's going on with him right now and maybe you could see him awake, if you're lucky that is. We call him 226 or Derric, whichever suits you". When Davis got done talking, the only thing that was going through Charles' mind was, "how can we profit from this?" he asked. Davis then turns his head, smiles wickedly, and says one thing. "war".
