I stumbled into a ditch to retrieve the bag. It wasn't easy. I stepped over the nettles and places my foot in a pile of leaves. Snap, my leg between jaws filled with metal teeth. All I could think about was pain, selfish. I had to get back to the group but my leg was gushing blood. I pulled myself out and removed the trap. I had to catch up to the others. A noise! Wolves, they must have smelt the blood. I kept beef in my bag just incase this happened. I held it out. Hopefully this would work, I couldn't run and fighting was useless without my weapons. The leader approached and ripped the meat out of my hand. Another wolf fought for the free food. I took the chance to sneak away. I could just see a small path and followed it towards the river. I tried to take the remanimg metal shards out of my leg. It stung like hell. I wonder who put the trap there. Hopefully it was just some group looking for food rather than the survivors up north. Our base was south, we chose a cold, woodland. Perfectly hidden and surrounded by a spiked wall. I used the water to fill my canteen and clean my leg. I ripped part of my shirt to stop the bleeding. Then climbed a tree, watching the sun go down safely from my branch. In the distance I noticed a light. Someone must be camping. I headed over to check it out. Scavengers. They take people or animals and make them into slaves. They promise freedom but nobody leaves once they're taken by a scavenger. There were three people two men and a young girl. There ws a poor dog chained up, must have been wondering through the forest. Wait... I recognise it. Noah. He must of came looking for me. I told him it wasn't safe at night. I couldn't just walk in there. Think! The wolves. I remembered where they went. I quickly headed towards them. I approached one of the female's. She growled and I touched her soft grey fur. Then she stopped as if in a trance. I had acquired her D.N.A. I concentrated and began to sprout a tail and ears. I began to grow fur a my hands were replaced with paws. Finally I had finished morphing the wolves were aggressive but an easy mind to control. They were similar to the pack of jackals I had encountered. I led them to the camp sight and teared the chain of my brother. "Wait by the stream", i nagged. He protested but eventually left. One of the men woke up and grabbed his gun. He shot at the leader, he dogged then charged taking a chunk out of his hand. The girl woke up and screemed. They decided to leave. I would've done the same. Don't want to attract unwanted attention. They left a boar roasting of the fire I demorphed and handed it to the wolves, who were quite grateful. I went to find my brother who was morphing out of his Belgian malinois also know as max. He's one of the group's dogs. We headed back and arrived at the base. Luckily I remembered the bag, it has our med kit in it. Oh, and lukas's laptop. Hollie greeted me with a hug. My sister worries to much. But, she is a great medic and vet, the dogs love her. Our group are the southern suvivours we basically save as may people as we can and offer support. Naomi usually handles who we could trust or not. At least Hollie isn't doin it, she'd asume everyone was friendly. I was kind off like a leader but we all had an important role. Lukas is on defence, fel is on food, Noah gathering exc...
I took of my jacket and changed my top. I headed down to the kitchen. Fel was making pancakes. We've got the ingredients a coulpe months ago we found a flooded farm. We're growing weat, potatoes, cabage, watermelons and loads more. The base is really big. Sometime we drive but usually we walk. Naomi is on the second floor, our rooms are next to each other. We basically make sure outsiders don't turn on us. The rest of our group are on the third floor, right now Hollie is talking with Charley if we should keep the horses. I think we should but I don't make all the decisions. Charley's in charge of the farm, it's and excuse for him to have a bus. I went up to see Naomi. Her room is awsome, she has a mini feidge full of pear cider, a gun rack, postes everywhere as well as secret compartments and passageways. I got a message that another survivor had been let in the camp. Hollie thought she was trustworthy. I decided to talk to her. I headed to the living room. I recognised her straoght away, Eve. She was from my old school. But that was a couple years ago. I let her stay but Charlie has to keep an eye on her. That's means she'll have to do farmwork, she wasn't pleased about it but it's safer than out there. I sent Naomi to check on them the following morning. I decided to chatt with Lukas about the northern base then headed to the farm. I found Charley unconscious in the stable and with a bullet hole on his left arm. I pulled out my phone and called Hollie to come grab him. I checked the fields and found eve lying on the floor, with a blood stained cut on her neck. Naomi looked pale. "What the hell happened". I stared at her, clearly something BIG had happened. Apparently eve had shot Charley because he found out that she was part of the other base and was about to give co-ordinates on our location. I'd have to check with Charlie when he wakes up but in the meantime we should clean this up. I believe she was telling the truth. This had happend before. We have an underground tunnel system that connects to our smaller hideouts just incase something like this happened. We tend to stay at our main base. So far, no one know our where abouts. And I need to keep it that way.
