BEEP BEEP BEEP

My 7:30 alarm goes off. i groan softly as i roll out of bed, i work at vans, and it's a well paying job, since it holds the name of a nice brand of shoes.

i let it continue to beep, as i get in the bathroom and look at the mirror seeing a birds nest on top of my head.

moments later, i tamed it to two braids and i hopped in the shower quickly to wash myself.

i walked to my closet, picking out a black, long-sleeve v-neck, blue jeans, and my very first pair of vans i have ever owned.

i got them two years ago to be exact. way before i started working at vans.

my shift doesn't start until 12, but i like to get up way before then, because knowing me, i won't wake up if i don't hear that first alarm.

i soon walk out the door hoping not to get caught in the traffic, and hopped in my 2008 black 2-door jeep. i hit the main streets of Omaha, Nebraska and to my surprise, there wasn't many people out.

soon i'm in front of my Gramms old timers coffee shop.

"Granny's Bakery" is lit up in the window, with many small fake cakes, pies, and cookies to tease people into wanting to try it, if they never been here before.

i, on the other hand, get a watery mouth every time i pass by the bakery, so i always spend at least 5 bucks here every other day.

i turned my car off and got out, locking it as i walked away from it. pushing the door open, the little bell rang. and my Gramms emerged from behind the counter, causing many head to turn in our direction.

"Ahh, my favorite and only Granddaughter, let me guess, 1 small piece of peanut pie, black silk coffee, with all creamer  and very little sugar" she spoke to me, causing me to nod.

She knew me all to well, considering I come here almost everyday. She led me to a stool. And skipped around the counter to the pie section, cuts me out a piece, and places it on a plate.

Gramms grabs a cup for me and places it in front of me and pours the coffee. Along with some vanilla creamer, and very little sugar.

I nod to her so she could stop. And she threw her handtowel down, letting everyone know she was on her break.

When the towel isn't in her hand, she won't serve you. My cousin Mike, takes her spot and helps serve.

Oh, I should explain something. My Grandma gave birth to 2 girls and 5 boys. And out of all of the grand kids she has. I'm the only girl.

I'm my moms first and only born, so I get much love from everyone. She leaned over the table and whispered something that she always asked me for the last 4 years.

"Do you have a boyfriend or a man in your life yet?"

i shake my head and sighed. she makes it seem like it's easy to pick up your perfect dream guy off the streets and magically fall inlove with him. though, sometimes i really wish it was like that. therefore, since it's not, i am 100% single.

my watch beeps letting me know my time is starting to limit, and that i have spent more than enough time taking in my gramms success as one of Cali's best baker and coffee maker.

i finished my coffee and left and 5 dollar tip, because if it wasn't for my gramms being who she is and doing what she does, i would not step foot in this bakery.

i sat in my car after kissing my gram goodbye, and looked at my watch as i walked to my car. 8:30am. i sighed kinda hoping after this the time would go alittle bit faster.

i drove back to my little apartment, and see my favorite cousin, jay sitting in my living room.

"how do you keep getting into my house when you don't have a key" i spoke to him making him turn around.

"1 it's an apartment, 2 i don't need a key to get in. you didn't lock the door, which you should start doing." Jay spoke making me roll my eyes at him.

He hops off the couch and followed me to the kitchen, which was surprisingly spotless. Because I was planning on doing before work to make time slip away quicker.

I checked the rest of my apartment, and it was clean including my room. Of course he cleaned it.

And it pisses me off cause I wanted to clean it.

I pushed him and he laughed cause he knew why I did the action.

I grabbed my work shirt and changed my shirt.

He walked to the couch, and watched TV.

Yes, I didn't changed in front of my cousin, but he's more than just a cousin. He's like a brother, he was that one cousin that never left me out of anything.

When his family would leave for vacation, he would beg for him parents to take me, and it would work 75% of the time.

I sat on the couch next to him and watched the TV with him until time slipped away from me.
