Summer was here. Our parents thought that after we came back from Gravity Falls last time, we were super sad. That's why they sent us back this summer!

Freshman year of highschool was a huge success!

Dipper is way past freshman studies already and is finishing his Sophomore studies. Grunkle Ford is video chatting with him regularly through his new laptop Soos bought him with the money he made from the shack!

-Oh, whoops. I forgot to mention! My name is Mable Pines, and my brother and I are going back to Gravity falls for the summer!

Our Grunkle Stan has retired into his tv room. He never gets up, Grunkle Ford says.

He's thinking about apprenticing Dipper through the summer, so he won't be around much. The nerds are remaking the destroyed journals! Ford and Dipper were debating all week with putting the portal instructions into the new journals due to what happened last time
He woke me up 5 times last Friday after school finished at night arguing to Ford. Soo annoying.
Well, enough about the nerdy twins, more about me!

I got so many new friends, and now am the coolest girl in 9th grade. In your face Dipper! I also got together with a jerk named Julian, but I broke up with him after he said how stupid pigs are. Like! Hello? You've been to my house and seen Waddles. Boys! Eek!

..Oh!..We're here! I'm so excited!

CHAPTER 1 BEGIN

Excitement filled Mable's face as she stepped out of the bus before her brother. The town was here! To greet them!
The townspeople gathered around them just as Dipper got off the bus. He jumped in surprise as the people hugged them.

"Our heros are back! Our heros are back!" They chanted loudly.

Suddenly, a groggy voice chimed in, "now, now, we're the ones who wanted to see them the most. Step aside!"
Grunkle Stan and Ford walked along the path to the twins the townspeople made for them.
"Our favorite niece and nephew!" Stan cheered, scooping up the short kids in his arms.

"Hey!" Mable squealed, kicking her legs around. Dipper just laughed.

"Stanly be careful with them, they're twigs, you might break one of their arms." Ford adjusted his glasses. Stan would drop them, a straight face mixed with a bit of jokiness.

A book would fall out of Dipper's vest and land on his face with a loud THUMP. He lifted the book up with a fake angry expression and stared at Stan. Stan looked back at him, a bit shocked. They the bursted out laughing.

"Dipper! You're so clumsy." Mable punched his arm as he got up to his knees.

"Ouch- Hey!" He rubbed it, snorting.

A crackle of lightning would interrupt the pool of laughter. Rain would start to pour down. The townspeople scattered to their cars or to shelter.
"Let's get you guys in before you get sick." Ford twisted his finger. The group of twins huddled together, soaked bags and clothing, walking to the shack.

——

It's been a few hours since the storm started.

Stan and Ford set up the twin's beds up in the dusty attic. Soos has been using it for his storage space for exhibits for certain days of the year, Ford says. Soos was out of town for a bit for a meeting about expanding the business to other locations. So far things are going well for that pitched idea!

Dipper sighed as the two brothers left the room. He plopped down on the bed.
"So. Tired." He put an arm over his eyes. Mable yawned.

"The rain is pretty relaxing. Maybe we need a nap. . ." She smiled at her brother whilst putting up colorful posters of boys and bands on her side of the wall.
When she went back for her posters and looked back at Dipper again, he was out cold, snuggling in his blanket.

Mable had to giggle.

He looked like a baby for goodness sake, all wrapped up in the sheets! The image of her brother sleeping made Mable tired too.
She yawned once more before putting her self under her butterfly comforter. She dozed off peacefully. . .

——

Mable woke up in a void of darkness.

Chills ran down her spine, this wasn't normal at all.
A demonic laugh would catch her attention, making her look around.

It was him.
The thing that nearly killed everyone.
The thing that trapped her in a dreamland.

Bill Cipher.

"Shooting Star. I see you are here again, back at my grave."

She shivered, "what are you doing here?" She echoed.
"I thought you died! I don't understand!"

Bill laughed once more, slapping his knee. "What? I can't die! I was just grounded to my statue!"

Mable hissed, "what do you want from us again?" Bill floated near her, spinning around her head.

"Well, to not only kill your family for trapping me in a stone statue of myself, but to wear your eyes as decorations." He shrugged, poking her in the eye. Mable yelped in alarm, clutching her irritated eye.

"And how'll you do that?"

Bill tipped his hat down. "Manipulation! Of course!" Mable lifted a brow.

"Why are you telling me exactly?"

Bill crossed his arms. "Because I want you to set me free, Shooting Star." He pointed his slender finger at her.

"Me? What! No way!"

The triangle laughed. "Yes way, kid. I know you will.." He summoned his cane and pushed her away with the end of it.

"I know a guy who was in the shack not too long ago I convinced to let me out. If you say no and let him let me out, I'll kill your family starting with Pinetree, and ending with you. I'll make you watch him die, I'll tear up his body apart. Limb. By. Limb."
Bill closed in, looking at Mable dead in the eye. She was deadly silent, shocked about what he said. Her heart pace quickened.

"Woah kid, don't have a heart-attack, you're not 67 yet!" He backed up, pushing his arms out in a carefree manner.

Mable sighed, striking out her hand. "Fine. I'll let you out, and you'll leave my family, Earth, this universe, alone." Bill seemed to smile, noted by the look in his eye. His hand lit up with a harmless blue flame. "It's a deal." He shook Mable's hand.

It's a deal.

A deal.

Deal.
