"Uy, matutulog ka pa. Ito na oh! Nakahanda na ung pagkain."
"Sorry naman. Tagal mo kasi." Sagot ko ng patawa.
Her eyebrows furrowed. "Kaw na pinaglulutuan, kaw pa mag-iinarte. Kaw kaya magluto." Sabi niya ng naiinis.
"Uyy, sorry na nga." I laughed once more.
What's this? Why do I feel so comfortable talking to her? Why did it become so easy conversing with someone that still considers you a stranger? How can I be able to reply easily to her?
"Ito na. Kumain ka na."
We went downstairs and headed sa dining room.
"Where should I sit?" I asked.
"Anywhere. Ikaw bahala." She replied. "I'll just sit in your opposite direction."
I took my seat. I examined my food and, my gosh, my mouth watered a bit.
Crispy Roasted Pork Belly with Steamed Garlic Rice as the main dish with a slice of Spinach Lasagna as the side.
Alongside is cranberry iced tea.
My dinner can never get any better. All these food cooked by her. Now, I'm going to eat it with her.
I sliced a piece of the pork and ate it as I scooped a mouthful of rice. The meat melted right away in my mouth as I started chewing. The rice' garlic gave it more taste.
I closed my eyes to savour it's taste. I didn't realized I started shedding a tear or two.
Tears of joy? No.
It was like a remembrance of what my grandfather used to make.
It's not the meat that made me remember, it's the garlic rice.
Everyday dati pag nagigising ako, I'd always see garlic rice on the dining table and my grandfather would say "Mag-almusal ka na. Alam ko yan favorite mo."
It was until one inevitable day, sumakabilang buhay siya and I never tasted anything that savory again.
Until I met this innocent, lovely girl that made my heart want to shout his name and let the world hear it.
I never thought I'd put her in my future until I get to know her better.
Until I get to taste again what grandfather used to make everyday.
She's perfect; too perfect. She's not just beautiful, she's not just thicc, she's not just cute; she's the ideal girl that will continue to make my heart beat fast.
An embodiment of perfection.
"Bakit ka umiiyak?" Her voice brought me back to the present. "Emo much?"
"Wala lang~" I smiled. My body, however, leaned forward and I don't know why. "You made me drop something."
"Ano yun?" Confused, she asked.
