Kayla's pov

Daryl just started starring at me. It was quiet as his eyes studied me. His shocked eyes then turned to a glare. My smile quickly faded as he grunted and stormed back towards the woods.

"Daryl!" Rick yelled after him.

I stopped him real quick,"no let me"

Rick nodded as I ran into the woods after daryl. Once I entered the trees, he was gone. I seriously don't know how he did that! Just disappear. I couldn't have been more than 5 seconds behind him. I decided to look down on the forest floor and look for any tracks. That was one advantage to being a wife of a redneck. you learn how to do these things. Unfortunately daryl was careful though, he never left any tracks. He knew how to hide them. I looked around for any sign of him.

"Daryl!" I whisper yelled.

Nothing.

"Dar....!" I started to say but was cut off when a hand wrapped over my mouth.

My eyes widened and I screamed into the hand as I was forcefully turned around and pushed up against the tree. I immediately calmed down when I came face to face with an angry set of blue eyes. He glared at me breathing heavily. His eyes looked watery,

"What the hell ya think her doin!"

He pulled his hand off my mouth and I said,"I came looking for you."

"Ain't you just a peach" he snapped.

"Daryl listen to me.." I started to say but he interrupted,

"Ya know yer a real piece of work!"

"What?" I asked.

"Don't play dumb! Yer fuckin actin like ya remember so the kids can just get attached to ya again! They don't need that! Ya ain't helpin no one! Yer makin it worse!" He snapped.

"Daryl I remember!" I yelled back.

"No ya don't! Herschel even said ya might not ever get yer memory back!" He snapped.

"Might! He said might!" I yelled as tears started falling down my cheeks.

He just glared at me, grunted and turned to walk away. I started freaking out. I felt that familiar feeling of struggling for breath. I started breathing heavily and my legs got weak. I lost daryl. He doesn't believe me. He's gone. My legs gave way as I started gasping for air. It was a panic attack like out at the farm. My vision blurred as I tried to remain calm, but there was no use. As I thought that I was about to pass out I felt two strong arms wrap around my waist and pull me into them. Immediately I smelt the woodsy smell of Daryl's vest. I lay in his lap as he runs a hand through my hair and try's to soothe me. We sit like that for a few minutes until my breathing gets better. Finally the attack had ended and daryl helped me off the ground. I nervously leaned back and forth as he starred at me,

"Sorry."

"Ya alright? Haven't had one of dem since.," he started to say but I cut him off,

"The farm I know"

I starred at him and his eyes widened a bit. I took a deep breath,

"look you can think whatever you want, but I remember ok? I remember you finding me in the house with my dad before he shot himself. I remember every time you saved me. From jack from the governor from joe! I remember getting the tattoos and you making fun of me cause I was afraid of needles! I remember you proposing and me going into labor with Merle freaking out! I remember everything!"

I didn't realize I was screaming until my voice hurt. I was breathing heavily as I looked into daryls stern eyes. He still seemed hesitant.

"But most importantly I remember my name is kayla may dixon and I'm hopelessly in love with my pain in the ass redneck husband daryl dixon. Please, just believe me."I begged.

He still remained still. I dropped my head in defeat as more tears fell. There was nothing else I could do. I started to turn around, but I stopped and whispered,

"I promised I'd never leave you. Here I am. I haven't left you, you've left me"

I started to walk back to camp when i heard strong footsteps behind me. I quickly turned and was grabbed forcefully and pushed against another tree. Before I could say anything his lips were brought to mine. I smiled into the kiss as the butterflies and fireworks filled my stomach. There was so much emotion put into this kiss that It felt like we weren't in the apocalypse anymore. Everything was gonna be ok. I had my family back. We finally had to come up for air and he rested his forehead on mine.

"You're back" his voice cracked.

I smiled and nodded brought my tears,"I am"

He gripped me harder around the waist as I smirked and said,"I'm gonna need that ring back"
