Chapter 6: Function

That was, until, a man showed up. He was familiar to me. It was Disaster. From the air, he went to land safely on the ground, looking at the bodies scattered everywhere. In his face, it is logically obvious that he was proud. But something feels odd. He was hiding something behind. He's holding it on his hands. He spread his hands and to my shock, it was something I could never forget.

It was the head of Zack Araiz.

I woke up, startled and was panting very heavily. Happily, my foot was still intact. Good news added, is that Anonymous is back. He's alive. The four of them seems to be discussing something. Reborn is okay. That's another relief to my heart.

"...and he escaped." It was incomplete but I heard something from Anonymous.

He was talking about how Disaster has escaped the battlefield. Anonymous was able to deal great damage upon seeing his friends lying down on the ground. He did went to transport us to the base to secure us from the damage he would have caused.

"What about Exco-Magicka? The damage you both have dealt?" Blake asked, worrying about his home place.

"I am a hero of regeneration Skyfire, as you all are. Someday, when you reach your higher levels of knowledge, you will be able to bring back what you've destroyed." Anonymous explained.

I recalled something from the past. It was the origin of the two deadly Functioners. It was again a day when our leader saved us all.

Two years ago...

"Buckle up. There is something dangerous lurking outside that we must secure. Failure will lead to a possible extinction of the human race." Anonymous stated, ordering us to be ready at our prime states.

After taking our best gear, we moved on outside and went to the lands of Mystica. It was my first time here in this kind of place.

It looks like a paradise, as we landed at the of the waterfall. Seeing its beauty as the trees surrounding the river, sways like they are all dancing. The sound of birds chirping everywhere and the flow of water makes you feel calm. There is no problem seen here if you look it at it at the first time.

"Don't let the beauty of this land deceive you." Anonymous said, with a serious tone.

"Man-eaters? Radioactive flowers? Poisoned mushrooms?" Reborn asked our leader in an annoying way.

Anonymous shook his head, saying possibly a yes or no, making Reborn confused. Instead, both of them walked towards the end of the waterfall and jumped as if there was no gravity in the Earth. I also jumped to catch up with them. Being lost in this paradise-looking dangerous land would be a grave sin.

In front of us is a pond, having blue and red waters divided equally in half. The water flows violently as it looks like the two waters are fighting against each other. The soil around is starting to erode. It might be because of the force the two elements are giving out.

From Anonymous hand popped a letter in an old manuscript paper like you see on RPG games. Something is written down there. Reborn took out the letter from Anonymous' hand and read it aloud for us to hear.

"The land of Mystica,
Where the powers of many,
Resides in the area,
As the Function is seeking,
True heroes in both sides,
Regeneration and destruction,
Balance the world of danger,
And transform into a world of power."

"What was that all about?" Reborn asking with a confused tone.

"You'll never understand if we stay out here. Come on, let's move." Anonymous said.
