At the young age of thirteen, Aurora's whole family died in a fatal car crash. Her grandparents were in the car, her brothers and sisters, mom and dad— everyone dear to her— yet no one survived except her. Overcome by a great sorrow, Aurora falls into a deep depression that she can't seem to escape even three years after the crash. So deep that no one can pull her out of the darkness she is living in. Still, a forced yet convincing smile is always plastered on her face. A smile that hides the broken girl she really is. She was alone, until she met him.
Jack is always the person people looked up to; stunning grades, looks that others envied, and quarterback on the football team. But people always miss the fact that when he smiles, it's forced, when he laughs, he displays no emotion. His world is crumbling beneath him as he just watches with nothing else to do but observe. No one notices his pain until Aurora comes along.
Two broken people who want their lives to change for the better, soon coming clashing into each others worlds. Both desperately searching for the cure to their sorrow, they might just soon learn that a shoulder to lean in can come a long way.
