My cell phone Pinged causing me to zone back in

I pressed the home button and opened my photo gallery I scrolled through the pictures of me and my father on the last few days he was alive, I missed him dearly and yet he had only been gone for a few weeks, I locked my phone knowing that if i continued to look at pictures I would make myself cry
I zoned out again waiting for my flight number to be called
" Flight 2 6 4 you are now boarding"
I stood up and walked to the gate pausing to look back usually my father would have dropped me off and waited at the gate on summers that I would fly to L.A to see my mother but this time he wasn't I sighed and began forcing one foot in front of the other until I was on the plane sitting down in my seat
I unlocked my phone and quickly texted my mother

" I'm one the plane headed to you "
Mom
" :)) Can't wait "
I locked my phone and turned it on air plane mode, turned on my music, and drifted off to sleep it was the only thing that I could do to make this flight less heartbreaking
