Over the course of the next week I tried over and over again to disable the bracelet but nothing would work. I tried everything from hitting it to break it, to trying to pull it off. It's tight enough that I can't even get it off of my wrist when I dislocate my thumb. I just don't know what other options I have left.
"Hey you can try as hard as you can, that bracelet isn't going to break or come off." Seth said.
Everything has a weakness I just need to find out what weakens this stupid bracelet.
"Also I am going to talk with the vampires out back. Just stay in here and don't do anything stupid." He told me.
Stupid is out of the question I just have one thing left to try. Although this seems like it's too obvious I will try it anyway. Tin foil has always been a idea in my head. I haven't tried it yet because I thought it was too obvious. Well, I am out of options so I will just have to give it a shot.
I grabbed some tin foil and wrapped it tightly around every single part of that stupid bracelet. Once it was fully applied it was time to test. I quickly stuck my hand out the front door and....... Nothing. Nothing happened I finally found the weakness!! Before the vampires could realized it I was gone. Sprinting as fast as I could all the way back to Nicholas' house.
I walked in the door of Nicholas' house and fell to the ground. Man, that was a long run.
"Oh my god! Marie!" Nicholas said running to my side.
"Awe man I thought you were dead." Dante said expressing his concern for my well being.
"I am dead." I corrected him.
It nice to know some things will never change.
"How'd you escape?! What the hell happened at that party? All we know is you are at a party and then drunk Sarah shows up asking where the unicorns are."
"If you both would have listened to me in the first place we wouldn't have had this problem."
I was still having a hard time speaking do to the fact I just ran for like 5 miles. Once I finally caught my breath and put a gallon of water down my throat, I told them everything.
"Where does this guy live? I am going to go kill him!!" Dante yelled.
"NO!" I said a little too soon. "I mean he has an army of vampires. We would all be dead."
"She has a point." Nicholas said.
"So what? We are just going to do nothing?!"
"Yes! Look I'm exhausted. I'm going to go take a nap, then we can train. Sound good?"
I got up and went upstairs, I haven't been here in two weeks. I took my jacket and shoes off, then crawled into my nice bed. Closing my eyes, I fell asleep instantly.
When I woke up I felt well rested. Something I hadn't felt in a long time. I sleep so much better not being in a bed with a vampire who wants to kill me. I got up, changed, and went downstairs to the training floor. I turned on some upbeat music, put boxing gloves on and punched the hell out of the punching bag. I pretended it was Seth.
It was weird that I no longer pretended the punching bag was Dante. Weird how much has changed and it's only been a couple weeks.
I broke six off in the first hour. Nicholas and Dante were impressed, but wanted to see how I am with fist to fist combat.
Dante and I went at it. It was a pretty fair fight surprisingly. Dant threw a couple punches, I blocked about 60% of them. I threw some punches and hit him about 65% of the time. Then I got this feeling come over me and I had Dante on the floor moaning in pain in five seconds.
"Damn girl." He said holding his shoulder that I just dislocated.
Nicholas was laughing when I was starting to win, but when Dante fell to the ground his jaw hit the ground.
"Must be my slayer instincts."
We spent the rest of the weekend training and talking. Then Sunday rolled around.
"So what do you want to do tomorrow?" Nicholas asked.
I was really hoping I could push this conversation as far as I could because I knew Dante wouldn't approve. Oh well, he it goes.
"Um... Nicholas I'm going to school tomorrow." I stated.
"WHAT?! NO WAY IN HELL!" Dante yelled.
"Look, I'm not going to live in fear that he is going to find me. I spent the last two weeks as a prisoner. Not anymore." I calmly explained.
Dante and Nicholas looked at each other. Nicholas nodded and Dante gave a look of defeat. "I will drop you off and pick you up. If you aren't there at exactly 2:20 I will go in there and look for you while I spread Lipgloss."
"Okay I will be there then."
I called Sarah and talked to her. She just about had a heart attack. When she had heard from me, she was sure my name was on a tombstone. She told me she didn't remember a lot of that night, other than the fact that we were both in danger. That made me feel relieved because now I don't have to explain to her that vampires are real. I hard enough time accepting it and I was obsessed with them.
We talked for a long time and I am relieved to hear her voice. It puts me at ease knowing that she is safe and away from crazy vampires. We both couldn't wait to see each other in school tomorrow.
