There is one more whose name has slipped
My mind as it's been long since I got picked
After a long age of procrastinating
Here comes the list I warn - not so fascinating
1. Both my arms were graced with plasters
When I fell on them and earned my self fractures.
First was my left when I was a sweet eight
Then at eleven followed my dear right
2. From a country of two (major) Islands I originally hail
Unless you board a flight you can't visit till you sail
Dad from one while mom from the other
And I live at that which is home to my mother.
3. Three of my grandparents are alive Alhamdulillaah
Except for my dad's father may He be forgiven by Allah
I love them all so much, they are true gems,
Our parents and us wouldn't be if it weren't for them,
(After Allah's will)
4. With my mom, I share a birthday
Well, I couldn't leave her alone ;)
Second month's second day
And each of us is a second born
5. I love going to weddings
As long as they are music free
The duff I find so entertaining
Talk of the merriment and glee
6. I so love children
Of all ages and size
They are this Earth's heaven
The coolness of my eyes
7. I remember asking mom, back when I was a child,
A question out of age, perhaps you'd call it wild
Mom tell me these engineers, How did they build the sky?
How did they manage to raise it, With no pillars and so high?
8. After one of the great sahabas' mother
Alhamdulillaah I am named
She is a swahabah too - the mother -
Though doesn't have so much fame
9. When I take a cup of tea
Either milk or black
I like it sugar free
Though my siblings think I suck
10. Succeeding in intimidating me
Is the last thing one can accomplish
Winning in embarrassing me
Would scarcely be your dish
(What doesn't break you, builds you)
11. The last time when I stepped
On the not so loved weighing scale
52.6kg it read
And I am glad I am doing well
12. More than Half the people I know
Have had the chance to see me cry
I guess I have a soft spot
And I don't question why
13. I have once eaten a dolphin
Though it's meat I liked not
My cousin thinks I am mean
But hey! I had to taste what's in the pot
(At my grandma's)
14. I was given birth by a queen
So sweet, loving and reserved
I pray to Rabbil Alamiin
In Firdaus, to keep her place reserved
15. I enjoy licking a bone,
Finishing every edible part,
When its wasted I would mourn,
For real it leaves me hurt
16. I love being on swings
I love it when I go high
I love the delight it brings
And the joyfulness, Oh my!
17. Half of me is from a man
So caring and understanding
I ask Allah to grant him Jinaan
And forgive all his shortcoming
18. Both in dark and in daylight
I used to fear being alone
Only four years back
That fear had I outgrown
19. My happy days are when
A compliment I obtain
As someone passes a comment
That I am a girl so silent
20. I love writing poems. I want to write like The famous poetess and female companion of the prophet may peace be upon him Khansaa Radhiya Allah anhaa some day in Sha Allah.
(Her name deserves more than being on my crappy rhymes.)
