It was 08:40 when Jimmy and I woke up to his phone ringing. He tiredly picked it up and said, "Hello?"

"Jimmy! Hey, sorry if I woke you up..." a voice that sounded a lot like Mark's said.

"No, it's okay. What's up, Mark?" he asked as he played with my hair a little.

"Sydney's dad's after her and he knows where we live. Is it okay if we stay over for a while?"

"Sure. Sydney's your girlfriend, right?"

"Yep."

"Okay, cool. See you at 1:40."

"See you, Jimmy. Tell Lauren I said hi, and happy birthday for yesterday."

"Lauren, Mark says hi and happy birthday for yesterday."

"Tell him I said hi, and thanks," I told Jimmy as he smiled.

"She says hi and thanks."

"Okay, I'm gonna leave you two alone. See you guys later."

"See you, Mark." Then Jimmy ended the call. He looked at me, "Let's get changed, then move your clothes here."

"Sounds good to me," I answered as we got up and changed.

We sat on the stairs of the porch at 13:39, waiting for Mark and Sydney. We saw Mark's car drive up the driveway and walked over to Mark and Sydney once they hopped out.

"Mark! It's been forever!" Jimmy said.

"Jimmy! How long's it been?"

"Too long to remember," I said as the three of us laughed. "How are you, Mark?"

"I'm good, Lauren. This is my girlfriend, Sydney," Mark introduced her to us. "Sydney, these are Jimmy and Lauren."

"The way Mark described you was exactly perfect! Better than when he and Amy were together all of high school."

"Don't ask why. But yeah, Sydney, you look exactly the way Mark described you, unlike Amy."

"I know you said not to ask why, but why did you say that like Mark lies about Amy's appearance?" She questioned me and Jimmy.

"Well, he said she was blue eyed, a red head, and fit," Jimmy answered.

"Sporty, a good girl, and a Grade A student," I added.

"But when Mark, Lauren and I saw her enter one of our classes she's never in, she looked different..."

"She has blue and blonde hair, tattoos all over her body, and wore shit rebels would usually wear."

"We tried to warn Mark about her, but he was crazy in love with her, then. Five or six years after Mark and Amy graduated, he found her cheating on him and broke up with her. After that, they remained friends."

I looked at Mark, who was staring at the ground. "And then he met me..."

"You know, he talked about you a lot," I said.

"He did?" Sydney questioned.

"Yeah," Jimmy answered. "He told us about your situation, what happened between you and your dad, and why you two broke up. You're all he ever talked about."

"I didn't feel like talking to anyone besides them two and you..." Mark said before she hugged him.

"I'm sorry it had to be like this..." Sydney whispered to him.

Then he kissed her forehead. "You two are so cute. Wanna come in?" I asked.

"Sure," Mark answered as he went to grab the box.

Jimmy and I led Mark and Sydney to my room, then Mark put the box in there.

"You guys can stay in my room for the time being," I said.

"Thanks, Laur," Mark said.

"No worries, Mark."

Then Sydney got another message from dad. She showed it to us in fear.

Dad 5:10PM
I know you left your apartment with your boyfriend. I'm gonna find you eventually.

Yeah it's short and shitty, but it was worth it.
