The Letter He left

Rockwell High

As I open the doors of Rockwell High the feeling of regret smacks me in the face.
I should have slept threw my alarm this morning.
It's the first day of senior year and I am not as excited about it as I wish I was. Thankfully today is just a half day. Out of the corner of my eye I see my friend Nina gawking at two blonde guys.

Usual Nina.

"Hola Chica" I say walking towards Nina. It barely snaps her out of her creepy gaze upon the two guys
"Hey Camila I missed you!" She saying bringing me into a hug.I haven't seen her all summer due to her being in Panama,Florida on a family vacation. " I went ahead and got your schedule while getting mine" She states with a large smile plastered on her face. "Why thank you" I respond back. "We have agri science and Algebra together" Nina says with the tone of relief.

I smile knowing that my classes will not be as boring as I thought they were.

"Have you seen my brother this morning? He left before me with Michael" I question
"Yeah I saw him with Michael and um" She stops.

"And who?"

I kind of don't want her to answer that.

"Luis"

A jolt of pain fills me and my head starts to pound.
His name is enough to kill me. He should have just stayed at where ever he ran off to.
What is be doing back.
Who does he think he is.

"Are you okay?" She questions while putting her hand on my shoulder "It is going to be okay he probably doesn't have any classes with us".

It takes me a minute to realize I have been staring at the wall for a few minutes now.

No I am not

"Yeah I am fine it is okay because I am fine" I state trying to sound as confident as I possibly can but it doesn't work.
