        "Smile!"

A ghost of a smile spread out across my lips. My mom seemed okay with it, because she snapped the picture. She smiled at me, eyes shining with pride.

"You're going to love this school. You get to go with Jackson," Mom said, nodding her head at my younger brother.

I sighed, blowing my bangs out of my face. "I hope this isn't like Richbelle."

"It won't be. Just go to Mr. Leein if you have an issue," she said.

I opened my mouth to argue with her again, but was cut off by the loud beeping of the bus horn. Jackson beat me to the bus. Before I got on, I shot one last look at Mom, before getting on. I sat in the back and plugged my headphones in and blasted my music.

When we arrived at the school, my brother took off, leaving me to fend for myself. Thankfully, the office was there immediately. I turned to the open window and looked at the secretary.

"Um, I'm new," I said.

"Okay. What class are you in?" She asked.

"Uh," I said, completely blanking.

"Hey, Lila."

I saw Mr. Leein and my shoulders sagged in relief at the familiar face. "Hi."

"Here's your schedule. You have gym right now," he said, handing me a paper.

I nodded, and followed him as he led me to a large gym. The doors were open, and the kids were leaning against the padded wall. He got the attention of a girl with dark blonde hair.

"This is Mary. The one I was talking to you about," Mr. Leein said. "Mary, this is Lily. She's new."

I smiled politely at her. She returned it. I knew we would become friends. Another girl approached us. Her hair was short and dark.

"This is Livvy," Mr. Leein said.

She waved at me. Eventually, Mr. Leein left. Livvy pulled Mary into a conversation. I behind to casually examine the rest of the kids. My eyes instantly rested on him. The room got brighter. He was messing around with another boy, but I knew they were friends. His laughter echoed through the large room. I didn't know who he was, and I knew I shouldn't have had an immediate fascination with him because I had a boyfriend, but I couldn't help it. Eventually, the teacher made us do an activity, so my eyes were pulled away from the boy I didn't even know.

♡♡♡♡♡

I eventually found out his name. Finding it out was like a breath of fresh air. Throughout my first day, we had some brief conversations. Talkingto him was so easy. So natural. That afternoon, after I boarded my bus, I rested my head against the window of the bus and let my mind drift to him.
