It's my first day of my junior year, and i'm already late. I throw on what ever I can find and bolt downstairs.
"Good morning sweetie." My mom says as I grab a piece of toast off of the table and run towards the door. As I run out the door i managed to fit in a few words, "Can't talk now mom, love you!"
I managed to get to school just in time. I walk to my locker as I hear someone yell my name. "Hanna!!" says a soft, gentle voice. I turn around and see my best friend, Kira. We have known each other since we were babies, our moms also grew up together. Kira and I are only 1 month apart, she's the older one though and always teases me about it.
"I haven't seen you since... you know when." She says with a sly wink.
"Yah... I don't think we have to talk about Kyle and I right now."
"Why not what happened? I thought you two were perfect for each other?!"
As she said that Kyle walks up to us.
"Hey" He said in a shy way. I was confused because he's usually not shy at all. Kira read my mind, "What's wrong bro?" "Nothing, let's just get to class" He says to Kira because they have first period together.
I wonder if he's mad about what i said? I thought to myself as i walked into Chemistry. I sat down next to Lily, a girl who's basically my idol. She has beautiful emerald green eyes and light blonde hair, unlike me who has light blue eyes and Brown hair. I guess blue eyes are pretty too but I have always wanted green eyes my entire life.
We greet each other as i sit down. Butterflies flutter in my stomach. I have never talked to her before so this is an accomplishment for me. We get assigned a project to do. "It's already the first day and we have to do a stupid project?" I whisper over to Lily. She giggles and i feel proud of myself.
Fast forward 5 periods and it's lunch. I try to search for Kira and i finally see her. I walk up to her and we go get lunch together. "Do you know what's wrong with Kyle?" I say with a worry in my voice. "Yah... "
"Well what is it?!"
"He's jealous of Emily"
"What!? He knows me and her broke up beginning of sophomore year right?"
"Ya but you were supposed to go out with him to the fair and instead went with her."
I feel so stupid. I never thought of it like that. "Oh my, well i didn't mean it like that"
"I explained that to him but he's just the jealous type, just kiss and make up" Kira says while laughing and rolling her eyes.
I thought about it and i don't know if i want to do that. I was so fixated on it all day, I barely got any work done. I wasn't sure if he was right for me. This sure isn't the first time he had done this. I think i need to talk to him about it.
Once i got home from school i decided to call Kyle. I hear a ring then a "Hello?"
"Hey,, i just wanted to say i'm sorry if you thought the fair thing with Emily was like THAT,,, because it wasn't. I don't think i can keep doing this though."
"Wait what do you mean?"
"I mean every time i hang out with like anyone you get jealous, just because i'm bi doesn't mean i go sleeping around like Nancy Style"
"Hanna I know!! I just don't want to lose you to anyone!" Kyle says as his voice begins to break.
"Okay just please calm down, it's okay i just need some time to think, ok?"
"okay.."
My call was interrupted by my mom yelling for me.
"Sorry Kyle I gotta go, see you at school" I hang up the phone and head downstairs. I look over to see someone sitting on my couch. Oh shit i totally forgot Lily was coming over to work on our project.
"Im so sorry! I got carried away and i totally forgot" She stands up and says "It's okay, can we head to you room?" I nod my head and we head upstairs. "Well should we start brainstorming?" I say as i walk over to my bed and sit down. Lily walks over and sits next to me. "Ya."
"Okay well we should do something chemistry related" As i said that Lily starts to lean in towards me. I can feel her soft breath on my lips. She starts to speak, "Well.. i think we have major chemistry, so why don't we do it on that?"
