The clinking of metals and glass is what welcomed the girl into the room.
Her hands were shoved into the pockets of her grey jogging bottoms - she was never much of a girly girl - and her head was bowed slightly, her eyes tracing the lines on the floor, watching her feet take another step towards where only doctors were permitted to go. Her face was covered by her straight waist-length brown-black hair, which had streaks of permanent royal blue dye in it. Her black short-sleeve shirt allowed the world to see a mark on her arm, waiting for the entrance to the needle that would erase all her memories, but not the sadistic voice in her head that was begging her let it out so it can scratch, bite, poke, break - whatever it took, really, to get it away from there.
Even now, as she struggled to withhold her control of her body, she could feel it clawing against the walls of its mental prison, giving her a pounding headache that, for the life of her, would not go away. She was stressed enough as it is, this was not helping at all.
As she sat on the metal table that was set out for her, she removed her hands from her pockets, instead opting to wring her wrist and chew her lip instead. She couldn't help herself from glancing down to the spotless, white tiled flooring, before forcing herself to look back up towards the docs that would be committing the sin.
A nurse gently pushed her by her shoulders so that she was laying, face-up, on the table, and put a mask over her fair-skinned face, covering her nose and mouth. As the sleeping gas entered her lungs, she entered the maze only she could solve - her mind - and proceeded to shove the glass-like balls of memory into the darkest corners of her mind, building an unpenetrable wall, where she hoped the memory serum would be unable to reach - or if it did, she'd be able to regain them, in time.
As darkness pulls on her mind, she could only hope that they wouldn't discover where she'd - painfully - tattooed her name into her skin, so she wouldn't forget.
Then there was black.

The 'maze' that is her mind is kind of like... a place where everything that happens in her mind/brain is... for example, in the 'Mind,' let's just call it, her emotions and memories are physical things. If she were to feel extremely angry, she could go in the Mind and build a box to put it in, where the emotion would be muffled. It could grow though, until it doesn't fit in the box and suddenly... BANG, it explodes and everyone unfortunate enough to be nearby will feel her wrath. It's kinda confusing, hopefully you'll understand later on in the story.
If it helps it's kinda like in inside out.
Her putting the wall over her memories, though, was kinda like blocking her memories from herself, so unless she figures a way to remove it, they won't come back. They'll end up coming slowly and gradually, but not all at once.
