"Shes not my type as in shes not a guy"

Cassandra mindlessly glared at the tv. Charles, her best friend, was late yet again. She impatiently fiddled with a loose thread on her sweater, when a frantic knock was heard on her old wooden door. She jumped up from the couch and practically ran to the door, a smile plastered across her face. She swung it open to find Charles and a boy she hadn't met before. Cassandra now a little embarrassed by her wardrobe as she was wearing a baggy sweatshirt sweatpants and had no makeup on, thinking only Charles was coming.

"Oh, Hi!" she said, a hint of redness spreading on her cheeks. If she had known Charlie was bringing another friend, she would have tried to make herself look somewhat presentable.

"Hey Cass!" Charlie quickly embraced her and invited himself in, along with the unknown boy, quickly following behind him. "Cass this is my boyfriend Joe, Joe meet my best friend Cass," he said, gesturing between the two of them, beaming with excitement. Cass instantly went to hug this "Joe" boy. When she let go she looked him up and down

"If you hurt him, I hurt you" she said, making her voice deep in a playful manner. Charlie laughed at the thought of Cass trying to hurt the 6 foot man. "It's so nice to finally meet you," she said seriously this time.

"Yeah, Charlie talks about you all the time too," Joe said, smiling at Charlie.

"Nothing bad I hope."

"Sometimes." Charlie said with a playful smirk, this comment ended up earning him a punch in the gut from Cass,and one on the arm from Joe.

"You should have warned me Charles, I would have changed out of my damn pajamas," she said scolding him, using his full name, which she rarely ever did.

"Well I just wanted to stop by real quick, we can't stay long because Joe's cousins are coming down for the summer and i'm gonna go help him clean up." Charlie said smiling down at Cass.

"Are you sure? You can stay for dinner!" said Cass

"I wish we could, but we should probably get going. They're going to be here anytime soon." Joe said, apologetically.

"We could go to breakfast all together in the morning! If the girls are down for it anyways," Charlie said with a smile.

"Sounds fun," Joe replied

"Yeah! Sounds good! I can't wait to meet them." Cass said smiling cheerfully
