I looked up at the tall building up-ahead. For a High School, it appeared to resemble a university like the ones back in America. I sighed softly releasing the unwanted feelings that made me uneasy.
-Keep your hand to your side
-No eye contact
-Fake like you're alive
"Fake like I'm alive," shouldn't be on my list, but if I'm going to live in Japan, I want people to see me as a human being...Like I was before the age of nine.
"Relax," my doctor told me."This is a good school. Perfect for misfits," he laughed a little, pretending to tap me on my back.
The doctor and I go way back...As I was told. He was the one who took care of me after my parents died. He also was the only one who really knows what happened to my parents besides my Godfather. My vision went blurry glaring at the doctor for what felt like eternity. I rapidly blinked my eyes and shook my head a little.
I can't remember the doctor's name. The only thing that I recall is "Doc" which is what I think I always called him. I can't exactly remember how I got to Japan. Only bits and pieces of it, which to my knowledge felt like a deep sleep. Or, in other words, somebody knocked me out.
"I'm not nervous," I finally answered. "I'm just cautious. Nobody knows me here, and nobody knows about my past." I tried to clench my fist, but my fingers went through my hand. I started to glitch.
"Calm down," Doc warned. "You don't want your emotions to get the best of you." The Doc had a worried expression on his face. For three years, the doctor has been trying to save me. I don't even know why. Maybe love? He, sometimes, mistaken me for his late daughter. I feel like he thinks he can save her through me.
The other doctors in America said if my emotions go haywire then there's a possibility I might cease to exist. So I try to remain emotionless as possible.
"I'm sorry. I'll attempt to calm down." I told him, with an half smile. His expression soften as he looked at the ground. Sometimes, I feel bad every time I glitch. It's like one step closer to death for me and another stress mark appearing on the Doc's face. I can tell that he hasn't been sleeping considering the bags under his eyes and the barely visible paper cuts on his hands. He still trying to find at least an answer or a cure to my problem. The one that I caused on myself.
Doc sighed, startling me. "Well, this is the only option that we have..." he frowned. He was silent for a second before huffing himself up to smile and dramatically pointed at the high school. "U.A!"
"Clap!Clap!Clap!" I said, while pretending to clap.
The doctor smiled brightly as he looked at me. "Are you sure you're going to do okay here?" he asked.
I nodded. "Yeah, I mean....This is the only option," I replied. "When I finally get my body back. I'll make sure you're the first person I hug."
"Yeah, right!" the doctor denied. "I'm sure the first person you hug is going to be a boy you crush on."
I shook my head. "I have no time for boys. Only education and fixing my quirk."
The doctor opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted with a smile that appeared on his face as he motion someone to come here. "Eraser Head, long time no talk!" he yelled.
I turned my head and smiled a little seeing my Godfather walk up to us. He still look the same for what I can remember. Tall, pale-like skin, and those dead-beat eyes. When I was little, I liked to play with his hair and braid it. He didn't like it, but he still tolerated me.
"You could have come in..." he told us. "We just don't allow media to come inside."
Doc chuckled as he scratched the back of his head. "Yeaa, but I have to actually go and catch the next flight back to America." he informed him. "I just wanted to say farewell to Aka and then be on my way."
"Aka?" I questioned.
"It's your new name. We need to keep you confidential so your past won't follow you here. That means new identity, new name.." Eraser Head explained.
"New everything." Doc finished. "All to keep you safe."
I nodded slowly. I knew the consequences that I had to take for moving to Japan, but to change my identity...the name that my mom gave me? Isn't this going a little too far? I thought.
"Go ahead and go inside." Eraser Head instructed. "But don't be a pain in my ass though."
"Okay," I said as I ran further into the entrance of the school.
~*~*~*~*~Third P.O.V*~*~*~*~*
Eraser Head and the Doc watched Aka as she ran inside the school.
"You think this will help?" Eraser Head asked. "Lying to her about why she is really here?"
"You wouldn't unders-""She has been through a lot, and it's a pain in my ass that I have to deal with your shit." Eraser Head interrupted.
Doc sighed softly, rolling his eyes. "You haven't dealt with her. You had basically abandoned her when she needed you the most. She is your problem now."
The Doc pulls out a cigarette and place it between his mouth. "Plus I'm not lying to her...I'm just withholding some of the truth." he muttered. "She only have a few months to live...Hell, if she let her emotions get the best of her, I'll say weeks," he lit his cigarette with his index finger.
"And what am I suppose to do? Erase her quirk?" Eraser Head questioned. "We don't even know what permanent damage that can do to her. "
"Do whatever you want." Doc puffed out some smoke. "I can't watch her die. Not after my daughter."
Eraser Head narrowed his eyes at Doc. For him, it seemed that he hated this guy more every time he sees him. It was a pain in Eraser's ass that this Doc was a two-faces lying deceiver and Aka can't even realize that.
"I'll make sure she doesn't die... so she can realize how full of shit you are." Eraser Head commented while walking away from the doctor.
The doctor shrugged. "Whatever, she might not even believe you. Let alone probably remember you after probably 5 months from now." Doc puffed out more smoke. "By the way her memory is fading away slowly...So tic toc."
Eraser Head rolled his eyes.
This doesn't seem right...I think that Doc is up to something. He thought.
