"Mom Blade stole my pancake!" Lyria yelled.
"Levi, eat what's on your own plate." I chastised.
"Mom where's my report card? Did you remember to sign it this time?" Levi asked.
"It's in your backpack and yes I signed. Since you actually gave it to me this time." I said.
It was 7:00am and the kids needed to leave the house by 7:20.
"Casie! Get down here now or you won't have time for breakfast!" I yelled upstairs.
"Do you think you could close your mouth when you chew?" Levi teased.
"Very funny but unlike you I don't have horse teeth." She shot back.
"Hey! I have dads teeth. So what are you trying to say?" He questioned.
"Your teeth are huge!" She said.
"Mom!" Levi yelled.
"You do have your dads teeth but you'll grow into them just like he did." I said as I pinched his cheek.
Levi slapped my hand away and I chuckled to myself. I walked away and went to yell for Casie again.
"Casie, I'm not gonna tell you again." I yelled just as she walked into the kitchen.
"Geez, you don't have to yell. There's nothing wrong with my ears mom." She said as she grabbed a pancake.
"Sometimes I wonder." I mumbled.
"Ok twin's, lets go." She said.
"Wait, your not leaving the house dressed like that."
"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" She asked.
Casie was wearing a midriff top and ripped up jeans. Something that was clearly against the schools dress code. She's 16 now and she's always pushing her limits which was a trait that she likely got from her father.
"Do you really think your dad would approve?"
"Well he's not here so." She rolled her eyes.
"Seriously, Casie! If the school calls here one more time and you get after school detention again you know were gonna have a problem right?" I stated firmly.
"Fine!" She huffed as she stomped back upstairs.
She ran back down and now on had on something more appropriate for school. I thought about searching her back to see if she had packed the inappropriate outfit into her bag but I decided against it. I was trying to learn to trust Casie. Being a parent to a teenager was new to me and I was trying my best to figure this whole thing out. And I needed to learn fast because before I know it the twins will be tweens.
"Oh and by the way could you please remind a certain self-centered individual that they aren't the only person that lives here. So they shouldn't be coming and going at odd hours of the night and sneaking women into his room like some horny teenager." She stated.
"I will talk to him. Now get to school or you guys will be late." I said as I gave her a kiss on the cheek and handed her the keys.
I already knew who and what she was referring to and I had planned to put my foot down and start setting some boundaries because I had let things get out of hand but not I needed to put a stop to this madness as soon as possible.
I kissed the twins and handed them their lunches and walked them to the door. I let out a sigh and started to clean up the kitchen. I placed all of the left overs into the oven and then continued to pick up things around the house.
I walked through the house picking up random clothing, shoes, and toys. I had three beautiful children who couldn't pick up after themselves for shit. Sometimes it seemed like five kids instead of three with this man child running loose throughout my house. I shook my head as I made my way up the stairs to the study.
I stopped when I spotted Gunner's old chew toy. One of the kids must of had it. His death was hard on all of us. He was truly the best dog a family could have. We still missed him. I missed the way alot of things use to be but this was my life now. Don't get me wrong things were great but they could be better.
I plopped down in the desk chair and turned on my laptop. I popped my neck and told myself I need to schedule a massage with Sarah as soon as possible. I had been under a lot of stress lately. I went to get a pen from one of the drawers and of course staring back at me were those damn divorce papers. This needs to end now. I'm so over it!
