I
IT WAS A CLOUDY DAY
Skye is peacefully lying on the school bleachers busy minding her own business while watching the clouds above then out of nowhere a face pop in front of her blocking her view of the clouds.
"Hi! I’m Tamara and you?" She asked enthusiastically.
"You what?" Skye asked while trying to be in a sitting position.
"I’m Tamara and you are?" Tamara answered. Tamara extends her hands to Skye for a shake hands. Skye shake her hands and say
"I’m Skye. Sorry for my reaction. It’s just that a stranger talking to me is something new to me.” “You are new here?” Tamara asked.
“No, been enrolled here since 4th grade.” Skye timidly answered.
“Really? I haven’t seen you around. Sorry.”
“That is okay. I’m used to it. I know that nobody notices me, they are not even aware that I exist. I am close to becoming Ms. Invisible girl.”
“No, you’re not; if you are invisible I would not notice you now.”
Skye smile at her but she knows that nobody really cares to look at her or there is something about her that nobody even feel that she is around even if she is just beside them. For instance when she was on her grandmother’s birthday party, she was sitting right beside the door when her auntie stand beside her but she didn’t say anything to her or do some gesture then her auntie went to kitchen when she heard her asking people where she is, if she is around. She didn’t say anything but she was hurt and confuse at the same time because their shoulders almost touch when she stand beside her. It always happens to her and she is starting to believe that sometimes she is just plain invisible.
“What are you doing after class?” Tamara asked. Tamara is a very cheerful girl. She does not mind being labeled as a reject. She is confident with her looks and she still thinks that she is beautiful on her own way. She has a mahogany girl hair that she often wears as a pig tail and has bangs that almost cover her eyes. People her age think that she is weird because of her pale skin. Her looks was completed by her black nerdy eye glasses. She described herself as a normal studious girl.
“Go home, why?” Skye confusedly answer.
“Maybe you can join us on our club? We can meet her then we go to our headquarter”
“I’m not sure; your club mates may hate me.”
“No they won’t. They are not judgmental people. I will meet you here after class. Okay. See you then.” Tamara quickly say goodbye to Skye without waiting for Skye’s rejection on her invitation.
“Wwaai… see you then…” Skye whispered. Tamara leaves her with no choice but to be there after class and come with her on their club.
SCHOOL BELL RINGING FOR THE END OF THE CLASS PERIOD
Students are rushing to get out of the class and go to their respected clubs. It is Wednesday and every Wednesday after class all the students are allowed to spend 30 minutes for their clubs.
Skye is standing on the covered walk in front of the bleachers where Tamara will fetch her for the club. Skye still have hesitation on going to the club. She is shy in nature and not used to hang with people. Sometimes her being invisible can come in handy especially if she does not want people to notice her like in a crowded room and public area. Skye has low self-esteem and she thinks that she is no good. She even thinks of herself as an ugly person although she is not. She has a wavy, dark brown hair that falls dramatically to her shoulder. She has an expressive eyes and cute nose but still she thinks of herself as an ugly girl. Maybe because opposite sex does not give her too much attention and beautiful girls always picks on her especially Alexa.
