CHAPTER-28 BITTER YET SWEET

My expression made him realise what he just said and he immediately muttered

"What are you here for?"

I looked away and informed about the meeting with Mr Dennis.

"Oh..I forgot to tell you that the meeting is postponed and I will message the details of it later"He told wearing his shirt

"What?"...But I just got ready and prepared the documents"I said

"Just because you got ready, we can't start the meeting now."he claimed

"But it was your duty to inform me about this.Why didn't you tell me?"I asked shooting glares at him

"Well I m the boss and I will or will not inform you.It completely depends on me"He said stepping closer

"No it doesn't depend on you..You are the one to teach me lessons about time management and stuff then what happened now...I was so exhausted but just because of you I had to avoid the pain and work and when I m here you say that meeting is postponed... Do you even has any sense of empathy?"I told shouting at him

"Shut up women..just shut up..you are not supposed to speak this way..."He told grabbing my arms shouting back

I moved out of his cage and left the room.Maybe I overreacted but it is his job to treat the employees as humans.He isn't a king and we aren't any slaves to follow his every order.

It was night and the temperature has dropped to 4°.My stomach grumbled because I skipped lunch though I m not aware of Riyad.He must have enjoyed his lunch without me as he believes I always cause trouble.

I guess tonight I will have to sleep without food.But then my phone beeped and I found text from my boss asking me to come to the restaurant situated in the hotel.I thought to deny his offer but decided against it.

I asked the directions and went inside the classy restaurant and discovered him sitting there awaiting for me.I sat opposite to him but did not utter a word.He began the conversation saying

"What do you want to order?"

"Anything"I gave a short reply and snatched the menu card from his hands.Seeing his hopeless expression I couldn't help but laugh

"Sphagetti and meat balls"I ordered and he ordered some italian cuisine which I wasn't aware of.

We ate in silence but suddenly Riyad started coughing.I gave him water but still he couldn't get rid of the cough.I got tensed and ran to his side patting his back.

His face looked red and constant cough was horrible.He couldn't breathe properly.

"Riyad..what?"I asked

"Soya...bbbean"He told between the coughs

And that's when I remembered that he is allergic to soyabean.I shouted for help and one of the waiters arrived

"Is soyabean added in this pasta,?"I asked

"Madam soyasauce is one of the ingredient in this pasta"he muttered and we took him to doctor.

The doctor used auto injector and firmly pressed it against his thigh and injected the dose of adrenaline which reduced the inflammation. The doctor explained that he had an episode of anaphylaxis(severe allergic reaction) which could have been worse if we didn't arrive at correct time.

He advised Riyad to rest and give another dose of drug after few hours.His condition was little stable right now.The staff member carried him to the room where he fell asleep.I could still see the rashes and reddishness over his neck area.
