Shancai is sick, she skipped a meal and shortly after, she fainted; when he heard about it he felt a complete asshole.
But it's her fault for avoiding me, for running away from me over and over, with that Qinghe guy before and with that fucking bastard that's Lei. She actually went away with him at the cafeteria. He actually went away with her. What the hell.
Without even knowing how, here he was in front of her door, unsure if he should ring the doorbell. Unsure? Daoming Si?
The hell with it!
Shancai walked out of her room surprised to see him. She was beautiful and feisty as always, which made Ah Si smirk.
Why does she have to be THIS cute?
Her silky hair is framing her face, her eyes are even more sparkly because of the fever.
Damn, she is stupid, but she is beautiful.
A whole lot of thoughts were flowing through his mind.
HOLY MICHAEL JORDAN! Is the fabric of that pajama see through?
God damn, it is. Ouch. Get a grip, Daoming Si, this is SO inappropriate.
But the blood was already pumping faster in his veins. He could clearly feel his heart racing, and his eyes were definitely against the idea of getting a grip.
Well, this is going to be an interesting evening.
For the first time since he could remember, he felt what it meant to sit at a table eating dinner together. Even with this peculiar family, he liked it. As the time to go home arrived, Shancai accompanied him outside at her mother's request, with that annoyed attitude that never failed to make him feel alive.
"It's all his fault, look what I'm wearing", she mumbled.
"Your parents seems to like me" he mocked her back.
"Okay, you're outside now, stop pretending. What are you trying to do?" she scolded him.
"I'm pretending? I, Daoming Si, never lie" he replied scorned.
Why couldn't she JUST understand him?
"Stop acting! Aren't you here to make fun of me? Are you happy now that I'm sick?" she ranted, annoyed with him.
"I'm not happy at all" he replied looking at her intently.
His heart was beating so fast he actually thought she could hear it.
She had styled her hair in a disheveled ponytail, a few strands had escaped her control and were highlighting her long—incredible—neck, her cheeks were flushed, and she had never looked more beautiful to him.
As if I needed this! Damn this damn sizzle again.
He thought.
By then he was kind of used to it, he knew that he couldn't help it, even though he wasn't sure of what that sudden rush through his veins meant. What he did understand clearly was that the need to touch her couldn't be put away even if he wanted to do so. And actually he didn't want to do so, and it was fine with him. He tried to check her temperature, she grabbed his hand to stop him. "Let me see" he told her impatiently and finally touched her skin. She looked flustered, and confused.
AH! At least I'm not the only one.
Overwhelmed by emotions he couldn't name, he blurted out an invitation to Hawaii for the seven day holiday, offering to pay for all her expenses. She refused, he got frustrated, and they started to bicker; once again she rejected him saying, like a slap in his face, that she was going to Sanya with that lame friend of hers.
Why does she keep rejecting me? Females aren't usually able to tell me no. Well, except Zhuang Jie and Mother, but they don't count as proper females. How can this tiny one reject me?
He was disappointed and in disbelief. Then a funny thing happened: as she left all upset, she went the wrong way to her own home. She went the wrong way to her own home! And that lifted a flicker of hope in him.
This is not over, Dong Shancai. Not even close.
