Blayne Feckley was born and raised in Swan Hills of Alberta. After that, he moved to Edmonton where he attended the University of Alberta and completed his Degree in Actuarial Science with Business Minor in 2008. He started his career as a sales representative in Bay Area, California for APX Alarm Security Solutions. He worked there for 7 months from February 2007 to September 2007, and during this time, he learned marketing strategies and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. In June 2008, he joined Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company as an auto underwriter and worked there till March 2009.
He is an approachable, friendly, and reliable person. He has passed various SOA exams P, FM, MFE, FAP-IA, FAP-FA, and has approximately one year remaining to complete his Associate Actuary designation. He has a good experience in actuarial reserve models and valuations of retiree benefit programs in Excel and ProVal. Based on his academic experience, he is eligible for credit towards Validation of Educational Experience in Economics, Validation of Educational Experience in Corporate Finance, and Validation of Educational Experience in Applied Statistical Methods.
Blayne Feckley was involved in a four month project where he along with his team interviewed executive leadership of 13 Calgary based charitable foundations. During this project, he collected policy documents to review standards against best practice and recommend improvements where applicable or appropriate. His hobbies are playing slo-pitch, volleyball, tennis, and golf. He loves playing guitar, trumpet and paino.
