It was such a peaceful day, I remember it so clearly. I had just turned 8 and my mother took me to the park so I could play with my new doll. I just got a new dress and I was waiting for my friends to come by so we could all play together, my mother was sitting at a bench talking to a man. I was sitting underneath a big tree with my doll by my side, I heard soft footsteps approaching me. I got excited because I thought it was my friends but when I looked up I saw two boys walking towards me. They had dirty clothes on and they both had mischievous looks on their faces, "Hey there, what's that you got?" The larger boy said, pointing at my doll.
"It's my new doll, today's my birthday!" I said with excitement, holding my doll up towards the boys. "Give me that stupid doll!" One of the boys grabbed the doll from my hands, "Hey, give that back to me!" I said, reaching out for my doll. "Shut up you idiot!" The larger boy pushed me down into the ground, dirtying my new dress, I felt completely helpless. I did nothing but sit on the ground and cry hoping that my mother would come over and help me, but she didn't come help, the monster did. I looked up and saw a large creature appear from behind the boys, the creature wore a large iron helm in the shape of a pyramid, scars littered his body and his flesh was torn in several places. The most terrifying part of the monster was the large blade he held in his hands, it was rusted and stained with what could only be blood. At the time I had no idea what it was or why it was there, but then I saw it lift up it's large blade, letting out a roar before swinging it's vicious weapon down and slicing both boys across the back. They fell to the ground as I cried my eyes out. I was completely terrified, I let out a blood curdling scream and my mother started to run towards me, before she got to me the monster bent over, picked up my doll and handed it to me, giving me a soft hug before vanishing into nothing. My mother checked me first to see if I was alright. I didnt have a scratch on me but I will never forget what I saw, more people showed up and checked the boys for injuries, they both had red scratch marks on their backs but nothing major. I dont know why they werent hurt but I remember smelling blood, maybe it was just my imagination but that monster was not something I made up, it was real. Or am I really going crazy?
I looked up at the therapist sitting across from me, writing down notes on his clipboard, probably just trying to decide what medication I would need to start taking now. That dreadful day happened almost ten years ago, but I'll never forget it. Dr. Thompson looked up from his clipboard and spoke to me in a soft voice. "Well, think it would be best if we keep your dosage the same instead of giving you anything new, or uping it. Your birthday is tomorrow so I'm sure that's why you're having more dreams about this monster and that town you mentioned, you said its name was..." Before the doctor could finish his sentence I walked towards the door, twirling my cross necklace in my fingers, it always made me feel safe, made me feel like it could keep the monster away, and protect me from the town in my dreams, the town called Silent Hill.
